IM going to go ahead and guess console since there isn't a voice chat in-game on the pc or if there is not one ever uses it, my roomates who play on the console also bitch about the no mute :|

If you're playing something on a console that was built like 5 years ago you should expect shitty half assed graphics and poorly implemented voice chat

So if I'm going to buy this game on the PC, what's the best way to pre-order so that I can get the best perks?

Gamestop imo since you can pick it up on release day physically and install super fast since no download and then you get the expand (of course) and that physical warfare pack as well. That's what I did oh and no shipping as well since its at store. edit-just one of you friend-ed me on battle-log so far I'm sad panda bear. TT I need to have like full friend list so I can always jump in games. Send me friend invite and me love you long time. gogo glhf

The first part is pretty equal for attackers and defenders. The second is also like that if the attackers don't get stuck in the beginning entrances. The third stage is way too hard for attackers, and the final stage is really easy for attackers.
Beyond that the hit detection is okish if you can find a server with 40 ping or lower... Even then it has that bf/moh delay. People tend to die with a delay from you hitting them and you tend to get hit quite a bit after you've taken cover.
Additionally some of the rocks don't really protect you at their edges and it feels like your head sticks out a lot farther than it should. I'm not sure if it's just good realism with the size of the head compared to your field of view or if it is cover related, or simply the fact that crouching and going prone tend to push you up a little higher on some of the terrain artifacts.
Still I can say that even though I have some connectivity issues and graphic display issues I'm hooked.
So true on the getting hit after taking cover. Every once in a while I have graphical glitches that will show brightly colored blue lasers of bullet paths and you can literally see them curve around walls because of lag.

Your console/tv is broken or your vision sucks.
Or you think console games look way better than they really do...

if you have not played caspian border, do me a favor and don't make any judgements.
rush is definitely fun, but infantry & vehicle maps are very different especially with those gorgeous graphics.
and if your playing on a console, then i just feel sorry for you

I love bullet drop. You can snipe people at extreme range even if they went behind a rock just by letting the bullet drop into them head just going over the top of the rock ^_^

rush + vehicle maps are what made bc2 IMO (i was a BF noob before bc2, never got any other game, not sure why i even wanted to pick up bc2 just found it on youtube one day i think) and really was the most fun i've ever had playing a FPS, and i've played CS1.5/1.6/CZ/S and MW/MW2, not to mention older games...
there is nothing more fun than being the defender at a huge disadvantage but holding your ground in various houses and buildings, and winning by the skin of your teeth!
the thing you guys can't experience in this beta right now is how realistic the fighting actually is (especially hardcore mode for damage/no spotting/stuff like that) when it comes to open maps with many buildings. in MW series most buildings are just there for looks and you can only go on one story etc, but in BC2 there were HUGE maps that were scattered with buildings, much like a town in iraq etc, that were ALL accessible and destroyable.
nothing more fun than being with your squad and being surrounded by the enemy but your stronghold is a 3 story house and whenever you pass by a window you get shot at and have to crawl around inside and make a run for it when the time is right!
|
To all of you guys who are calling BC2 a "battlefield" game. Please go play a real battlefield game first please.
|
some more things need to be destructible imo.

All i see is BC3 not BF3. No commander. Smaller squads. 4 classes. No this isnt battlefield, its bad company.
My last hope on the franchise is how the jets turn out.

What an age we live in, back in the Quake days if someone was playing it on a console he would get beaten up while everyone was yelling "LOL, playing an FPS on a console?!"
Now console-players get pissed because bf3 doesn't look as good on their 5 year old console as it does on a brand new top-tier PC.
