I agree with you about the bf2 part. A large motto of BF3 or selling point was that "It was returning to its roots" which it obviously did not do in the slightest. I don't think that makes them bad, but they are definitely trying to appeal to a different crowd, which will bring in the sales... EA has had a bad history with screwing games or not supporting it like a hack going undetected through the entire game's existence. I just hope they don't ruin any potential in other words. I have big hopes for this game. I just bought a water cooler for my cpu just for this game.

I'm having wicked fun with this game. All that matters really. However, I think it is Battlefield 2s sequel, not Bad Company. It has to take good from both, and did Battlefield 1942 have commander?(no). Games always grow, and I really think they are taking the best of everything here. What is the Battlefield series? I think what made it unique(bf1942 to start) was having land and air vehicles that they had and having the combat on a much larger scale. Is this not going to be that? We are playing a rush map atm, and even that is great infantry combat.
You know what really amazes me?.. The most popular map in Battlefield 2 has no air vehicles(Strike at Karkand.) Most people even preferred the ground only combat map in a sequel to a game that was heavily loved for its air vehicles. And then people complained at first when BC2 wasn't BF3. Now we get both again. I think we're all in for some fun!
edit* and they had great response to the class system in 2142 which feedback they then used - instead of ignoring it. I'm sure they're still open.

Well, if the console version has such shitty graphics, why not just buy it for the PC? PC version looks a thousand times better than BF2 or BC2. Not trying to start an argument or anything, just giving my honest opinion.

I just started playing, trying to get used to. It looks good so far.

It's so tough when you are attackers and most of your team is recon/support and trying to camp. You plant the charge, get killed, enemy defuses and runs away. Not even trying because your teammates are too busy trying to suppress the sniper that is not even close to the objective.
The first part of metro is just really annoying unless your team is all on the same page. If everyone wants to do their own thing you will be stuck on that part for the whole game which is so frustrating.
In the subway is the best part I think.
I personally hope they don't bring back maps like Strike at Karkand, it was just like your standard CoD map. At the beginning of the map, spam all of your nades in random places and get like 4 kills then rush in and find a good place to camp. The only time it got interesting was on the extended version and the two sides were fighting at the bridge, that was fun.
I am excited for conquest because that is pretty much the best game mode. "Rush" always bothered me on BC2 unless it was that squad rush version where it was like 6 people per team and your teammates really used teamwork.
But in the end, I just hope that somehow black sand studios will be able to mod this into a Project Reality 2.

The make-or-break factor to me buying this game is simple:
When I quick-search with my friends, there HAS to be a way for us to get in the same squad.
Few things are more frustrating than being in Skype/Battlechat with three competent friends, join as a party into a game, and then be distributed one into each of four squads.
We want to work and play together as a squad. Badly.
This squad oversight, if not adjusted by launch, will straight up chase me away from buying the game.

Battlefield has always had unlocks... as far as the 4 classes they turned to that during BF2142 i'm fine with less classes in BF2 without stat padding it's near impossible to unlock all the classes.
