I only get a "none" and it cannot connect if you copied everything correctly there should be a file called "hu.reg" in your d2 folder. click that and select yes and the arimyth network should be added to your server selection and automatically chosen as the server of choice.

Unfortunately we realized after a day or two that the bosses became impossible unless you grind out tons of levels or get a bunch of people. Don't play this with the intentions of simply 'playing through' because the bosses quickly become unmanageable... We managed to take out the first few hard ones after hours of work and pushing strategies to the max, but eventually we hit a wall where the bosses were literally impossible no matter what we did. I would love to see a version of this mod where the bosses are able to be defeated while simply playing through.

I have no ran into any difficulty yet for any bosses if you have 1 or 2 guys dedicated to builds that are very strong early on in the game. The problem people run into is you have people really early who are stacking points for late game synergies and do little to no damage early when they could be doing a lot of damage. My wind druid is one of them, i have a level 22 oak sage, but only a level 3 tornado which does 100 damage. Until im around 50, my damage will not be amazing since i pumped oak sage to buff my group first.

Get yourself those +# mana per kill javelin (preferably with cold dmg), put tons of point into vitality, and wear some movespeed boots, and you will be able to kite people ALL DAY.

I believe you need a little more than just the .exe but your procedure is correct. There's a package with 1.10 vanilla files in the install instructions link. I don't know how Hell is balanced now but I'd say the bare minimum is 3 people especially if you're no D2-expert. Even with 3 you're very restricted in terms of builds. On December 24 2010 12:37 Chairman Ray wrote: What class should I start off with? I like playing cold sorc, so I'll either go blizz sorc or forb sorc, depending on which one is better for this mod. Neither of them are very good in this mod. Of the two i'll definately recommend Blizzard as its easier to keep alive in boss fights. And I think Frozen Orb produces too many counters. (Procs that certain bosses have when you hit them.) I'm not sure how many are from TL, but I notice there's a lot of games with just 1-2 people in. I really, really recommend people to join up so that you can match-up builds better. Your progress WILL stall before you're even out of normal if you don't have a proper party. I recommend a necro, a tank+life buff (barb/druid) and paladin as the basis for any novice party. After that you can add dps of various elements, also I recommend having a healer paladin if you're not keen on collecting truckloads of potions for many bossfights. How far are you guys? I see Alv is 30 so he's probably in early A3. Anyone farther? I haven't even started myself yet as there's been too many things interrupting for me to bother. I think i'll get some serious play from Dec 26th on though, we could try to get things together then. Oh and one last thing everyone should pay attention to: Some bosses spawn red portals upon dying which you need to progress. These portals will not spawn if the boss is killed using any kind of thorns (return-damage), you can damage the boss using this but the last hit must not be with this source of damage or the portal won't spawn and you'll have to do the boss again. I can't remember all the bosses anymore but i'll list the ones I can and complete it later: The guy in the last level before Andariel The three bosses in act two that gives you the pieces for the horadric staff, the frog in the end of Act 2. Sszak and Mithia in Act 3. The guy at the end of the River of Flame. The White Dragon and the Guardian in act 5.

More notes on playing in groups: If you're starting out on your own I recommend you play a character that adds something to the party other than just damage. You'll very rarily find that you can't beat a boss because your damage output is too low. Most often you'll lack auras, curses, hp buffs/tanks or damage-diversity, so as long as your characters covers some of this chances are you'll still be able to make up a decent group later down the line where as if everyone's making sorcs, amazons and assassins it'll be much harder. I'm not 100% sure on the player demographic nowadays but I bet there's still some bad apples in the pub games which might lead to the following if you don't get into something organized: You'll end up with ok but sub-par groups that'll barely manage. It'll be fun but you'll struggle as soon as one or two are offline. You'll end up shuffling games because there's too many bad players in the games you join. Out of frustration people will start using super cheesy methods such as underspawning or getting higher levels to do the bosses for them, effectively undermining the purpose of the mod...

And yes, the solo edition is only for people who don't really have MP as an option. The whole design-goal of the mod was/is MP. Try diamond-socketed helm/armor along with the right res's maxed against summoner. Crafts and sets are powerful too, only some of the uniques are.
