So, there's a random mini-chest hidden in the bushes just outside Ysolda's house in Whiterun; from the looks of it, this chest appears to contain leveled loot. I thought it was a Thieves Guild cache when I found it on my first character, but this time, I actually decided to check for the appropriate Shadowmark, and could not find it. It also doesn't have the caption of "Thieves Cache" when you mouse over it to open it, which separates it from any other Cache that I know of. It's just... a treasure chest. It's not owned by anyone, either, as far as I know; it doesn't count as stealing, even when Ysolda watches you open it.

Is this some weird anomaly (akin to the floating chests under the town's market stalls and the Skyforge)? Is it for a quest? Or is it indeed a Thieves Cache that wasn't tagged properly?

those are probably items you've sold her. Apparently the merchants store their inventories in chests which are usually underground or invisible or both but sometimes the mapmakers messed up and you can access them. Might be one of those.

Idk I like the way it feels to just pickup whatever, with mods that help with sorting stuff it makes it really convenient. I think atm I have like 2500 worth of stuff in my inventory, once I get low on money again I can just sell off a ton and start my stealing process again.
