Playing an assassin also feels like playing a completely different game compared to other classes esp in the lower levels when you *will* be detected (unless you cheat using calm spells), and sometimes you need to take out a bow to draw an enemy's attention (I just fire a shot near them/fire at the "exit" of dwarven defensive structures to pop out those sentries). Sometimes when sneak just doesn't work you may also have to use traps against your enemies. Use potions and cooldowns for the elite bosses. I chose orc for my latest run through as a dual wield warrior so I can just berserk down that one last elite mob that is blocking my dungeon completion (berserk+3/3 time slow+dual wield power attacks = dragonpriest die before they realized what happened). The scaling with bows come easily through eminent +archery equipment (I believe its +30% a piece). While smithing will get you the "best" bow, it is not as crucial as it is to melee characters as you shouldn't really be taking any damage. When I played my sneak archer I also mixed in conjuration for when I want to play a more offensive head-on style. I did not get any enchanting or smithing as they two professions made the previous character overpoweredly boring. Being able to just summon a bow out of thin air is a bonus! (A bound bow with perks is slightly stronger than an un-upgraded daedric bow). | ||

All I can do is ask him again and again about them and get the same speech. Well I can try to talk to him later once I finish the main storyline of mage college. | ||
