I mean, within the first 10-15 minutes of the game after you escape to Riverwood, there is a conversation between Ralof and his family (or whoever they are), and the two male NPCs having the scripted conversation are both the same voice actor using the same exact voice. Really?
You know there are multiple thousands (infinite, but in average gameplay time...) of characters in this game? What did you expect?

My biggest problem with Skyrim is that nothing you do has any consequences. When you finish a quest it's finished and it will never matter again. For instance, becoming an Arch Mage at the Mage's College and have all the people there treat you like you were a new student, giving you their little errands to run and telling you to not speak loudly about their little schemes. There's absolutely nothing you can do as an Arch Mage. This is true with everything in the game. Swear loyalty to a Daedra Lord, get a crappy item. No consequences. No mention of it at any other time in the game. Not even any follow-up quests. Once it's done, it's done. Become a Legate in the Imperial Army, receive snide remarks from simple foot soldiers. Dress in full Daedric armor and wield a powerful glowing mace, get attacked by a bandit in rags. Stuff like that shows that it's a game without consequences to your actions.
The quests are also kinda boring. It's mostly "run to this dungeon (that looks exactly the same as every other dungeon) and get this item for me, stranger!" And of course the dungeons are linear, and the item is always at the end, and for your covenience its exact location is marked on the map should you have any problems finding it. The most fun I had was when I was to get blood from all the elven races. I actually had to *gasp* think for myself how to find it. Also I found a treasure map once, and though the treasure was ridiculously bad and not hidden well, it was fun looking for it. Why not include way more stuff like that? Why not USE the open world you so meticulously have built? I don't get it.
With the things I have mentioned and the terrible UI and the same 3-4 voice actors doing all voices (except two of them that for some reason did the same character, Esbern), I really don't see why this game should get above 7/10.
1. Becoming a mage or guildmaster or companion leader or brotherhood listener does change the way people interact with you. The guards constantly remark on how your ears are hairy, or you killed some dragon the other day. The stormcloaks call you by whatever nickname they have for you at the time.
2. If anything that would get stomped by you doesn't even think of attacking (read: everything, because you will eventually beat the game), what on earth would you do?
3. The dungeons all look different, and a lot of the locations are not marked conveniently on the map, at least you have to make your way through other environments to get there.

So you returned the game, but you still have the game?

I think the only part of this game that is "less good than expected" is the part about the consequences of your actions. I feel things should change around you when yo join the DB or the college of mages, and you also shouldn't be able to join every guild with every character.
That downplays some moments which should feel epic but don't. But saying it's a 7/10 because of this and UI is, at least, a travesty.
For your very minor flaws, I give you a 9.5. Hell, I think this game should be a 9 solely because of being so much fun its flaws don't even matter, consider these UI, stability, and scope issues could break some other, lesser games.

Yeah, the UI is bad and there are some bugs, but 99% of the game is pure awsomeness and the game will entertain you at least ~100hrs and that all for like 30€! That's not true. I recently returned my copy because I couldn't get past making a character without clicking 5-7 times on this and that with little to no response from the UI. I'm just glad I was able to return the game and save 60$ and ~100 hours of clicking through my inventory. I may be giving the game a hard time, but I think if I am paying 60$ for a game it better have a certain feel that flows seamlessly. I don't like spending 10-15 seconds clicking on one gold piece here or there not at this price. This UI is also one that seems very very old. Just my two cents about the value of having an excellent UI. You managed to return a game that requires Steam activation? That's...interesting, or is it somehow different in the US? Unless you're referring to a console version which works fine (well, ui wise at least) which wouldn't involve clicking anywhere. That or you're referring to a pirate version which does have ui issues? Huh? Seriously you just returned the game completely oblivious to the fact that you can still click on the game and play it, you just screwed someone over hard...

Or, if the distributor reports this, he will get his whole steam account banned.

My only issue with the game is vampirism is incredibly lackluster :[

There's a lot of irmpovements possible, but i can"t say with 160 hour played already ( and still things to do, such as a 2 handed wep character ) for this price is something you don't get often. I think we can all say the game is worth his price, even if it's not perfect.
The fact that mod can make it perfect is a lot added to the value of the game too.

Don't they have a mod that gives morrowind oblivion graphics?

How come I can't disenchant certain armors or weapons? The dark brotherhood gave me these shitty armors, but I want the enchantments on those boots.

Read my mind haha, I wanted that muffle disenchantment.
Has anyone played the game without perking/leveling smithing? I feel like this game would be 100x more enjoyable if I didn't level smithing at all and just played with finding loot and using what the guilds give me.
Opinions? I might just completely destroy all my armor, drop my difficult to amateur again (I'm at adept with ebony suit) and play without smithing.

I got to level 45 before I realised that smithing or enchanting was actually awesome. I don't have any comparisson but it does seem like it'd have been easier with that gear but honestly it wasn't the hardest game ever without it.

My first character did a little smithing, but never leveled it enough to make the good shit. My second hasn't touched it at all. So I can't say how it feels compared to going all out in it, but I'm certainly enjoying myself.

Yes, I am now, because smithing/enchanting/alchemy just make the game super boring as anything but alchemy reagents become useless loot.
I might level smithing up without taking perks to upgrade armor level on light later on as much as it will without having the whole enchant/alchemy cycle of imba boostiness on it, but I'll definately skip enchanting and alchemy all together, not gonna read books or even disenchant anything. Use gear I find or buy.

I'm thinking of upping enchanting and just dumping/leaving smithing and just relying on the game's given gear.
Makes bartering with tenders more exciting. Makes enchanting and finding gear more worthwhile. Makes a lot of the game more interesting, ever since I got ebony armor, nothing's been better

I play without smithing. Don't use alchemy or enchanting either if you want hard mode.
Alchemy is worse than enchanting and smithing combined lol. edit- well, no base alchemy isn't TOO bad. It's still OP but enchanted bonus suits and alchemy is a recursive increase. You can never stop making a more powerful suit and jesus christ the potions. You could play a level 1 character against a level 80 with DR cap and own. + Show Spoiler [Dark Brotherhood end spoiler] +My potions kill five times faster than the one that was supposed to instantly kill the emporer. Shit I've made potions that kill instantly. It's fun to sneak into a bandit hole, pop shadow of nocturne and just slip things into peoples pockets ^^

I wish there was some higher level shit you could try to do once you start hitting level 40+. Everythings so easyyyyy.
|
Oblivion O Overhaul mod ( can't remember the 2nd O) included things like that. I can't wait for the mod community to get up on it and add the content that would make this game great.

I have a problem with the voice actors as well in this game, that one woman voice that's in like half the females in the game sounds to me like Ivanova from Babylon 5 and whenever I hear her I'm like..delta wing, deploy on that dragon dammit.

Yea the game is a lot more fun without crafting tbh...I took off my daedric enchanted shit and just use quest/found stuff and its def more fun when u actually have a chance of dying (master difficulty). Bathesda really messed up with crafting in this game...prolly their biggest blunder imo. Shit you find in dungeons should be as good as anything you're able to craft but its not even close. Makes random exploration kinda pointless besides looking at pretty stuff. They also shouldve added more unique items that you can get just by killing bosses or find at the end of dungeons.
