you have to go and get shadowmere, but I went out to the pool, It bubbled, I heard a Horse go neigh and no horse appeared. I then got the quest to 'behold shadowmere' completed but I cant actually use him as he hasn't appeared Has this happened to anyone else?

Played Skyrim for 5 hours or so and I'm already bored. I think I'll just play some Morrowind instead.
P. S. UI in this game is absolute crap when you're on PC.
Honestly there has been an astounding lack of hipsters like this for Skyrim.
By mainstream I meant 'linear + cutscenes'. It's annoying as hell. You enter some old ruins/caves and all you can do is go one way up until the end. Then you have fast travel (which I refuse to use) and this totally crappy flying-camera finishing moves. Add to that the fact that if you're on a PC you're battling the UI more than your opponents and you get yourself a game that's ultimately not-so-good because a lot of enjoyment is being taken away.

I play all of my games on PC and I adapted to the UI just fine. You're complaining about completely optional fast travel, which makes no sense whatsoever. To top it off, you're complaining about linearity in an open-world RPG. Lay off the Skooma.

I just spent all night trying to rescue a save file from vampirism.
I'm new to Elder Scrolls, had no idea what happens when you're a vampire. All of a sudden everyone in town started trying to kill me and I had no idea why. Turns out it's vampirism, and if you're a vampire and you don't feed on sleeping people eventually you'll get flagged and everyone everywhere will try to kill you.
Had to look up how to cure vampirism, then had to spend hours trying to navigate my way from the oldest save file I had to being cured of vampirism, without killing any important NPCs. I wasn't even sure at some points if it was even possible.
Seems really really stupid to me that Bethesda would leave this in without some serious design changes. I'm looking online and every discussion about curing vampirism is filled with people complaining about how stupid it is and how their save files are rendered unplayable.
Basically, if you come into contact with a vampire, drink a cure disease potion or activate the Shrine to Talos in Whiterun. If you don't cure that disease, it'll develop into you being a vampire, and then you have to feed on people to avoid getting "apocalypse flagged" (where every NPC in the game tries to kill you on sight), and you can cure vampirism by talking to an innkeeper, selecting "Have you heard any rumors?" and following that quest to Falion in Morthal.
You act like you can only have one character ever during the course of the game. You get multiple messages which pop up, and you don't actually transform until you sleep in a bed.
Also, anywhere there are NPC's and bed, one of them is going to sleep. Unless you've cleared out the entire world you're going to find people to drink from.
How come some of the dragons have names and others don't?
I was just running round on my horse to the next place for the dark brotherhood and then that big huge dragon from the start summoned up another dragon and that one had a name, Where as other Dragon that have appeared randomly, are just simply called "Dragon"
Additionally, it turns out, that Giants > Dragons. One helped me kill a Dragon and it killed it super quick, it was fairly amusing to see

Delphine's secret room, the map on the table marks all of the spots
I have met named dragons that I'm pretty sure have been random encounters as well. One attacked me as I was running through a village I've been to several times before. It wasn't any harder than the normal dagons though, in fact a tad easier than the random frozen dragon I'm meeting right now.

You can get lost in caves from time to time, especially if you don't use pointer/map. Don't use fast travel then, duh. Personally i have better things to do then spend so much time running. Finishing moves are awesome. UI is fine.
With all the sneaky talk before I went into the party I thought I was suppose to be stealth and only kill if necessary so I just smuggled in 2 worthless daggers. Fml when I left the party and had to fight some people in the house which I managed to survive some how but when I got out on the yard I'm so dead. I can't sneak thru everyone either because they are so many out there. I want my bow and blade :'(

If you think this should go the tech forum, I will move it there, but since most of you may have encountered this problem I am trying here first, thanks
Edit- I tried unchecking all of the XboX settings
Disable vsync in the config file using:
Add
iPresentInterval=0
to the cfg as the last line of display
That should fix it.
some people have said this disables steam achievements others have said it doesnt. I got an achievement today after enabling this setting so idk :/
Yea I tried that too. I tried each graphics setting in addition to these "fixes" but nothing is working. I am thinking it has to do with my cpu specs but IDK. Here is my Skyrim prefs file + Show Spoiler +
From my experience, you should lower your general graphics settings. Strangely, if your PC can't handle the game, instead of dropping frames, you just get a lot of input lag. I had the same problem, and just lowered some general stuff, and it went away.

If sc2 freezes, you can still move your mouse around on 1 frozen frame as normal, but Skyrim mouse is part of the game client, if you are running at 5fps it only updates once every 200ms

Stop bitching about everything...
While I don't agree with all that he said, it is true that every single dungeon I have been in is linear and I dislike that a lot. The UI we can't get around is one of the worst UI's in years for PC, just because we can use it does not mean it is good.
I love this game, but it does have huge flaws unfortunately..

Yes, but that is the strange thing. You still have normal FPS, you really only get mouse lag.

I don't have any problem with ui, didn't even spend much time adjusting. And getting lost in caves was one of those things i hate about some other games. You can still get into some problems here, so i am fine with it. And some places are just to huge to allow players to get lost.

I would prefer going around a well-designed dungeons rather than huge ones that cost me more times to find my ways through things than enjoying the game itself.

Should have packed the single most broken item in the game: invis potions.
Sneak kill a guard and take his equipment, you should still be fine.
Why do alot of quests take my to places I don't want to go :/? I've got all these quests at different main cities and the main quest goes to solitude now, I don't want to go there. I haven't even finished the cities I HAVE discovered. Damnit game damnit TT.

Getting lost in caves/explore caves is a matter of taste. I personally like to have choices in the dungeons, and not just a linear path, but that is my opinion.
About the UI, it is bad.... sorely lacks a lot. Just the inventory lacks: * Sorting (by value, weight, when you got it, type, etc.) * A Log that show what the last item you got was, so that we don't have to go through a huge list. * Compare item (value, weight, look.) * A way to open you AND your companion/chest/traders inventory!
The perk UI is also pretty bad for PC, many times did I have to choose a different perk and use w,a,s,d to navigate to the one I actually wanted to look at.
It is ok that you can play the game with this UI, I can too. But it still sucks arse and a developer as big as Bethesda and a game as big as Skyrim can't be allowed to throw this in our faces again...
As I said I love the game, played it a lot and still plays it, but that don't mean that I am a blind fanboy who can't see flaws
