Damn, my preorder will only arrive on the 12th and I want to play the game so badly after these incedible reviews, it almost physically hurts...^^

Ok, for one who has never played an elder scrolls game but pre-ordered because of all the hype etc, what should i expect?

Also able to unlock it in the US by decrypting the files from an Australian VPN. I did it this morning before I left for work and am looking forward to playing when I get home!

I'll be decrypting with the aussy VPN in 2 hours when I get back. 8 more hours of Skyrim that I wouldn't otherwise have. xD

Expect to lose track of hours of time and not really be able to say what exactly you did in game. And be happy about it.
One of the reviews on metacritics put it perfectly...it's not really an "open-world" at this point. They put a fucking country in a box. Almost everything you do impacts everything around you.
And you get to fight dragons.

Buying this after I'm finished with my chemistry/English exams :D Couple of friends going to the midnight release, seems sick !

Just made the decision to purchase after reading a couple reviews. Soooo excited :D
I'm living at my PC for the next week probably

My copy also got delayed so have to torrent this thing, but not a big fan of playing the beginning phases of the game twice so close to each other :/ You won't have to actually. You can go to the folder and copy the character you created and paste it in the one you bought if you want.
Actually once you cracked you cant update , patch , download dlc( though wont be any for pc for 30 days form what i hear) and 2 days delay is a bit too much for me since ive been waiting 5 years for a proper - skip it more like 11 years - for a proper elders scroll so till my copy is here i have to settle with razor

I'm really looking forward to this.
I wonder if its too late to preorder

obviously oblivion? it was a buggy piece of level scaled shit with a horribly generic world and bad combat/writing/voice acting (pretty much everything important in an rpg). it got "perfect game 11/10 game of the year every year" reviews when it came out, then a couple of months later all the reviewers do a retrospective and say yeah you know its not so perfect, actually some of it is quite shitty.
similarly for fallout 3.
i mean their games are so badly compromised in certain aspects (and consistently) and they always get great marks, while the slightest flaw on any other producers RPG (apart from bioware) warrants a 7/10 mark.

Says 9 hours for me. Actually I'm used to steam games releasing at lunch the day of the release? So I guess they're doing Midnight releases now? Anyone know the full deal?

Your opinion on ratings != proof.

Game will release 11.11.11 12:01AM.

Playing a mage seems ridiculous easy, you can avoid melee attack by just taking a step back as they swing, and you can heal yourself very fast with spells. Melee seems harder since you have to stay near your target and some NPCs move fast from you, just my opinion after playing 1-2 hrs.
