My friend wants to get the game on a midnight release, but he is unsure if his laptop will be able to support the game. New Vegas worked fine on his computer, as do other recent high-end games.

Gamebryo had some 'clever' implementations for handing realistic LOD issues, but so much was demanded of those systems that still ended up being one of the critical areas where the engine struggled as any one who bothered to play with the .ini files will certainly attest. The biggest gains to be made with this new engine, and as a result one of the most significant factors in determining it's merit is going to be how well and how cleverly it can handle LOD and draw distance issues, and how scalable it is.

My copy also got delayed so have to torrent this thing, but not a big fan of playing the beginning phases of the game twice so close to each other :/

You can go to the folder and copy the character you created and paste it in the one you bought if you want.

Think of MW3 and the effort (or lack of effort) that went into creating that game versus the amount of revenue it will generate. Now think about Skyrim. All gamers, even those who usually pirate, should recognize that Skyrim absolutely deserves to be purchased legitimately. Amazing how I feel so strongly about this 12 hours before the game is even released. Also, here are my specs (hoping I can play it on decent detail). Windows XP 32-bit Intel Quad Core Q6600 (old quad core) Radeon HD4870 3.16gb Ram (4gb theoretical) Do you guys think I need to buy a card such as the Radeon HD 6950, or should I overhaul the entire system (Core i5-2500k, Windows 7, etc.)
