Seems I accidentally connected to an Aussie IP, because when I heard there was a patch and I double clicked on the game in steam, it decrypted it and all that shit. Holy crap what is happening. I'm going to refrain from playing it though. NOT UNTIL TOMORROW!

Its pretty amazing, The first dungeon was awesome and all the voice acting is pretty good, i have only noticed 1 repeat in actor so far. Finally got to the mages guild or council so it should get awesome from here! I crashed 4 times so far. Twice from me screwing up looting gold somehow and when jumping up a hill. I don't know how for the hill.

The full modded Oblivion actually looks better than this game. 6 gigs of install space was a really huge red flag. I don't understand why they crammed this entire game onto a single DVD. Unless I am mistaken about all this anyway.

The quality of said textures seems pretty compromised from all the cramming. EDIT: You know if they come out with a PC texture pack that would rock. I think anyway.

It's too bad the Elder scroll games are so dependent on you looking at the ground and walls all the time, if only they could fix that.

The definition of objects and doodads are pretty good. But the actual ground, indoor places, and so forth really shows why this game was sold on one dual layer DVD.

Qarl's texture pack tried to fix this. Forced Vsync is also a problem I have with this game. Forcing Vsync off through drivers doesnt seem to work either. Also all graphical options are just adjusting the distance at which various objects are drawn. If you want to adjust quality you have to do it in the config files.

- Is dual wield viable due to the fact that you can't block? - Are bows good enough to main or are they too "slow"? - Is warrior with shield and sword boring?

I haven't played so I don't know the extent of the truth but you can't compare apples to oranges like that.

Oblivion fully modded is a 5 year old game, even with mods that are made by 1-2 people.. While Skyrim is a brand new AAA title, made by a big studeo

I quite enjoyed being a normal sword shield guy when i played oblivion, it's quite rare to have a first person view point with swords and shield afterall :p For my opinion about graphics: I think rather than focusing on HD texture etc, it has improved quite a lot in character models, in game items and also immersion (such as the lighting, I am not sure if it was bug or was it the lighting system, when I look up the sky which was bright, looking down will darken everything for a few seconds, it felt really realistic)
