Don't. This will only be a waste of money. No game at the moment requires / utilizes 8 gb of ram. If you want to upgrade then buy faster RAM and swap it with the current one.

Part of the perks of working at a Best Buy that is doing a midnight release. I close this Thursday, so I will just hang out with the gaming guys until release and be the first in line.

Personally I liked vanilla oblivion but stopped playing before all the mods came out. Hopefully this time I wont ignore the mods and amp up my game experience ^O^O^O

I'm so excited I came to the thread to drop the excite bomb <3 Super awesome. I'm going to my parents on Friday and won't be at my computer, so I won't be able to play except for ~4 hours while my brother is at work. Jealous of you all. Can't wait. What is 9am PST, like, 5pm GMT?

One of the very first games I played on the PC was Arena. My oldest brother and I actually played it. I remember loading up the sewer level, and being scared to hell with it because enemies popped out of nowhere. His first character was a rogue, and then eventually we rolled a knight and that was what we finally settled on. We made it to the 7th piece of the staff, and then the game bugged out on us. At that point Daggerfall had come out. My oldest brother had received Daggerfall from his girlfriend for Christmas. He was 18, and fresh off to college, but he'd come home and I'd watch him play for hours. He wrapped the game, and I played it for years. Daggerfall was easily the biggest and most complicated game I'd ever played. I made a point of becoming the best in so many different guilds and becoming the strongest I could - at which point I stopped playing. Hardly even made a dent in the main quest line, but I spent SO much time customizing things it wasn't even funny. My brother bought me Morrowind and Oblivion. I liked both games a lot, but it wasn't the same as Arena and Daggerfall. Perhaps I was getting older, but it didn't have the same magic anymore. Oblivion I modded to all heck and played a lot, but Morrowind lost my interest fairly quickly. My brother and I ended up playing Oblivion together, but not Morrowind because he also lost interest quickly. A couple months ago my brother was visiting me, and we went to Memory Express to grab a few computer parts for his business. We saw the Skyrim trailer playing on the big screen, and we were both pumped. I'm really hoping to see some magic from this game. I always put TES games on a pedestal since they represent my love for RPGs, and also remind me of how much fun I had as a kid spending time playing video games with my brother. That being said - this game scares me. Perhaps because I have such high hopes for it. The removal of the stats is probably the biggest scare for me. The reason for this is because recently games have been highly dumbed down, and it has suffered for it. My other beloved RPG series, Final Fantasy, produced a pitiful game in FF13 in large part due to how dumbed down it was. The inability to control more than one character at a time, and simple things like regenerating health and magic after each battle made the game less fun. The battle system was innovative and kept it fresh enough to keep me going, but unfortunately the simplicity took away from my experience. The same can be said for Fable 3. TES never has had fantastic stories - at least for me. What I enjoy the most is the ability to customize my character and create my own story out of it. Whether I'm playing as a male white knight, who helps all those in need, or as a female who dresses prim and proper during the day, and becomes a bad ass mofo at night murdering whoever she feels like, TES lets me do this at my leisure. The modding community allows me to enhance this experience. The complexity and ability to create has been at the centre of the franchise for years. Taking away from that would be a big mistake. As a person earlier mentioned, the games have becoming less and less complex. While I can't agree with this from the jump from Arena to Daggerfall (3D maps anyone? MY LORD), this has held true for the series in general. The core of the game is fantastic; if anything what we need is more options to customize, and more ways to create our own story. Statistics is a means to an end in this sense, and only one way of accomplishing this. I look forward to this game and have high hopes for it. The good thing about TES games recently is that mods make the game customizable. Although Bethesda has an atrocious record for releasing buggy games, they have been consistent in releasing awesome ones. All I can hope is that that standard is kept on par for this game. I am pumped.

And either way physical map is better than no physical map for the same price. Also, it's not the material that I care about. It's having a large map of the world, so even if it was paper I would still want it.
