EPTMy 4870 is deffinately and old man now but i only play at 1440x900 so im sure i'll be alright. The Fallouts ran well so i doubt Skyrim is a huge step up from them.

Anyways, it's kinda hard to put my finger on what exactly makes Elder Scrolls games (and Fallout games too) so addicting to play. Perhaps it's the exploration of breathtaking environments? Perhaps it's my obsession with hoarding every single piece of loot in hopes of getting a few gold/caps when I eventually sell it? Perhaps it's the hundreds of interesting side quests that suck up all my time from doing the main quest? I dunno. Dragons. | ||

To me, it feels like they are removing a whole layer of the game. The Attributes were the main modifiers for your skills, your skills were your main modifiers to in game activities, and then your in game activities seemed governed both by both the individual Skills you had developed, but also by the physical and mental attributes that your character had natrualy and that were enhanced by using the skills. Just having no Strength also makes racial selection less meaningful. I mean really, how much are they going to dumb this down? I thought Oblivion felt pretty hollow compared to Morrowind, but IMO the biggest step down in Dynamics was from Daggerfall to Morrowind... which also came with the biggest upswing in graphics, quests, and NPC behavior. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, Oblivion now looks like a pretty complicated game with Orcs having high Strength and Endurance and Elves having high Willpower and Intelligence... and modifying those is just one CHOICE to affecting skill advancement. Less choice here. I was going to be big on Alchemy, looking forward to it, but without Fortify Strength or Willpower, without attributes there for Diseases to damage and Vamparism to enhance (such as speed)... what. the. hell. Can anyone speak on this who has played the game? Especially from the Viewpoint of whether Alchemy is worth my time as opposed to another crafting skill? TYVM I think when you factor in the fact that they added perk trees and that races still start off at different skill levels, it's about the same or slightly more customization than Oblivion. I know what you're saying though, more customization and options are always a good thing. I want to have really different play experiences depending on both the choices I make in character creation and the decisions I make while leveling/advancing, and I don't mind a more rigid class/skill system to accomplish this. | ||

Just not willing to give up my cumfy relaxed console playing that I can do when I don't have internet/my pc for the potential mod benefit. (considering this is like 40% of the year and when I do 80% of my rpg playing) If the game aint good enough to play, then I will just rush through mainstory and call it good. Need to play a shitton of 1v1 tomorrow so I can forget about sc for a while. P.S. Female Breton Mage, don't care if its cliche, its what I want to play! | ||
