Second half starts and I actually still have 10 players (surprisingly). I decide to blitz one of his ogres with my single 4 str player to open a gap. I get to hand the ball to my catcher who is behind my blitzing unit. I knock his ogre down and run up the field trying to defend my catcher but from here everything goes south. My players get injured left and right. My catcher gets knocked down by a snotling . He brings ogres up and there is a standoff for a couple of turns. Turn 14 I have 5 players left on the field, 2 of them prone. He takes the ball with a snotling and throws the snotling with an ogre to have a chance to score touchdown. The throw fails and the snotling is prone on the center of the field with the ball also at the centre of the field. He understands that it's a dangerous situation for him, it's my turn 15 now and i pick up the ball with one of my throwers, placing a blitzer next to him for protection. I have one single player that could possibly run into the end zone on turn 16. My opponent surrounds the player with a snotling and ogre, surrounds my thrower with snotling and ogre. My turn 16 i manage to "double dodge" with player into endzone, "double dodge" with my thrower, launch a perfect launch that is caught by my lineman in endzone and I win 1-0. Opponent was actually 10-1-0 before this game. GG, I can't imagine how he feels right now.

And most of them have frenzy. Frenzy can hurt you at times, and block ain't all that great. The best and most OP team was (and probably still is, gotta check it out) the Wood Elves. Who cares about block if you have a ton of agility and movement. Ultimately, it's not about who can stand his ground in a fight but who can score more points in rapid succession (that's why dwarves, who all got block, tough head and what not were great for beginners but as you learned the game they were pretty much worthless). The next great thing is Chaos, but they start to shine very late, when they get a lot of skills an mutations in. The best and closest games I've ever had was Wood Elves vs Goblins for example. Shit was intense - evade, dodge, dodge, dodge, pick up the ball, evade, dodge, dodge, pass, repeat.

Coz I doubt i'd want to spend £30 on steam for a game I might not like. But I am more likely to spend £15 on something that might or might not be to my liking. Its like any other game, play a bunch of games to learn the rules and the basics but if u like the warhammer universe, im sure ul like this as well!

I cannot stress this enough, without understanding the machanics behind the game and having an idea of the die roll chances involved, players tend to get frustrated quickly. The game has a steep learning curve in the beginning, but do not let that deter you, its a great game and can give countless hours of fun both as a boardgame and via playing it online. I have the normal edition from last year and I'm seriously considering getting the legendary edition now.

I kind of feel like the game is optimally played on computer, with all the leveling, dice rolls, amount of teams etc.

Sure, the computer can do some tedious tasks for you, but you get ample compensation for that over the board just by being able to see your opponents face when his best player fumbles the go-for-it roll 1 tile before touchdown and dies
