If you can not start a game fielding 11 players, I do believe you get journeymen. They are more or less free temporary players that you can hire after the game for normal price.

If you're unable to field 11 players for a game (after the first) you are given "freebooters" to fill your team slots up to 11. These players are always the player listed as 0-16 in the number you can have and never any special positions. The down side to this is they all come with the Loner skill. If you have the money at the end of the game and want to buy one of them, say because they earned SPP during the game, you are given the option to. I hear it's bugged though that the option to buy a freeboot player is given before winnings so you pretty much won't have the money if you couldn't afford a player before hand anyway...

IRC channel is now up and running. I would suggest everyone to download irc and put channel #tlbb on autojoin. The program does not disturb the computer in no way, it's like msn messenger lite.

I understand I was voted down with the no foul turn 16, that's fine for me.

How is league creation process going?

did BB just get a patch or something? I tryed to join the battle.net thing they have, and it tells me my version is not supported now? I was able to join yesterday too.

General piece of advice, especially for new players : when a match starts hit both "g" and "n" once. The first one will display a grid, the second one will put the type of each player above its head.

While I find turn 16 fouls in public matchmaking games to be incredibly BM, this league isn't a public matchmaking game.

By fouling that guy, you stand to weaken your opponent's team and hurt his playoff chances. And if you should meet him in the playoffs, he might be slightly weaker.

Then again, if you're the Dwarves playing against Amazons, it's probably in your best interest to not smash them up too badly, you'd kinda like to play them in the playoffs, after all.

For new players, fouling doesn't give your player experience, but that shouldn't stop you from doing it in the right circumstances.
