What about someone who doesn't make it to the tournament and plays less games?
You cant save replay as far as i know. You will level up through season but of course everyone has to use new teams season 2.
I signed up for league now, i suggest we disallow undead.
Replays are autosaved in "my documents/bloodbowl/saves/replays" or "my documents/bloodbowllegendary/saves/replays". They can be replayed in the client by going in single player / load / replay. You can use +/- to make them go faster.
Most leagues use BBmanager, which is a neat external tool to manage leagues. Replays of each match get uploaded, and are parsed on a central server and accessible to all. Apparently, the LE has brought a lot of the stats that could only be found in BB manager inside the actual game, but it still gives us the ability to centralize replays for example.
1. Install BB manager : http://94.23.239.117/BloodBowlManager.ClickOnce/publish.htm 2. Make an account with the same name as your BB account (different password obviously) 3. To upload replays, the easiest is having BBmanager open before playing your match. After playing it, BBmanager will pop a little bubble offering you to submit the game. Select the league, confirm the players names and input the match day and that's it.
Your players will gain experience, and with new levels you can give them skills. As you gain skills on your players your team value will increase. When two teams clash, the one with the lowest value gets "inducements", to spend in various stuff to make the game more equal. It's still an advantage to have the highest value but it's somewhat compensated.
Why disallow undead, Juag? I don't have a bunch of experience against them so I don't really understand if there's some kind of problem with them or what.
I actually signed up with them (though said "Undead maybe" because I hadn't made up my mind yet)

Hm I just see them on top of every leaderboard and it seems to be a race without weakness (contrary to every other race). It's just a suggestion from me, so that not everyone plays undead.
Well, if there are enough races and/or enough players, then might I suggest that only 1 team of each race be allowed to enter? We could implement a random draw or a drafting system to make it fair/interesting.
I guess if so many people are interested in undead, I'll play something else. I would never say to ban them though. They don't have many weaknesses, but they don't really have anything super strong either. Everyone has regeneration, but there are teams where everyone has dodge or block or this or that, and they are all agi3 people without any passers/catchers/etc.
I don't want to pick something someone else did, so I'm curious who is playing what. If we want to do some kind of random team thing to avoid duplicates, I'd be up for that, too, but I think people should be allowed to opt for "brute/speed/stunty/normal" teams so that they at least get something of their "style"
I'm up for Team Drafting if everyone else is. Sounds like it could be fun. Do we all have to be online at the same time for it? If so, then maybe not.
Skirn (friend of mine who should have PM'd you his registration) said he'd be up for Random/Draft, too.

Team value counts, but it will go up faster with better skill (more touchdowns, more money, etc.). Some races are pretty tough to play out of the box at the start value, some are stronger in the beginning but get weaker at higher values, some are solid all around. I joined my current league in its season 4 (9 games per season), and it's not really a problem.
I mostly don't care about which team to play. I have some preferrences, but mostly I just suck with a couple of races and would like to avoid them (human, dark elf) and any other would be fine. I haven't really tried the LE races (and I didn't play tabletop or fumbbl).

yeah, I think that drafting would create some challenges for players who have mastered their 'favourite' race.

So how many games would our season be? How many races are there? We could have division play, where the teams are separated into groups. Each team plays the other teams in its own division more (eg. twice) than every other team (eg. only once).
That kind of scenario could lead to extra rivalry within the divisions. Also, more attention would given to the success of other teams. Rather than a situation where we're thinking, "So, who do we play this week?" we might be thinking, "If I can beat this person, then maybe I can clinch the last division spot into the playoffs."
Of course, that's highly dependent on the motivation of the organizers and the wishes of the players.
There are 20 teams.. if we can fill at least 16 of them we, division play will be viable. My intentions are to flesh out the league's rules and create a fresh post this weekend.
So if you have any ideas, please voice them! I've never played in a formal league before, so I'm not sure of the intricacies.
What kind of rules are we talking about outside whats already in the rulebook? I know some people are against fouling, but I know I'm not (so long as its not overly excessive to the point where you're just trying to ruin someones day, which I only care about because its a teamliquid league)
Just wondering. Because "draft, standard rules, fresh teams" seems like it's pretty straight forward on the rules :O
Also, how many players are we up to? I didn't think 16 was going to be possible, but if it is, awesome.

What do you mean by "against fouling"? It's like a key feature in BB... What was the name of the game again? Oh, the intros could really give it away!
