Lakers have done ok when kobe's missed games. They wouldn't make top seed, but they certainly wouldn't be the worst team in the league.

Heat are crazy good right now. Can't believe how different they look compared to the shaky start (they were always going to improve, but wow it has still surprised me).
Amare still has massive issues on the defensive end of the court. He has improved, but boy does he have a long way to go. Bynum made him look embarassingly bad at times today.

they really need to work on calling back court travel violations, sure what Aldridge did was traveling, but show me a possession that Dwayne Wade or Lebron, or any ball handler, dont palm the ball in the back court. Why call one violation and not the other? Imo if there is no opponent within 10 feet then travel violations should be void, it should be the same as a break away dunk, if it doesnt effect the game in any way(aside from giving them a vital possession in OT), why call it? It seemed like the refs were so behind on makeup calls in that game, so maybe thats why they decided to call it. Still a good win for the Heat team.

Well, NFL is in the playoffs and College football is about to end so it's time to spend all my time on the NBA now.
Sadly for me it is painful to watch an extremely boring Pistons team now. Rumors have been flying about the possibility of Hamilton being traded, but I'm not sure who they would push to get and if they really think TMac or BG could even handle starting.

I doubt any of those teams would be as bad as the Cavs. Worst one I think would probably be the Suns without Nash.

It's not just about Lebron going to another team, they lost Shaq and Ilgauskas as well; definitely not losses to be taken lightly given the rest of their roster.

i think alot of people were surprised by the cavs. the roster showed so much improvement last year. jj hickson was on the books to be an explose player. but everything just went to the shit, hickson now on bench. losing their star coach didnt help either. cavs are textbook example of how to completely destroy a franchise.

Supposedly we're gonna trade Rip to Jersey, then Denver will trade Melo and Chauncey to Jersey as well.

The trade is supposed to land the Nets with Anthony, Billups and Hamilton. Denver gets picks and players, Devin Harris and Derrick Favors being the package, while Pistons would get Murphy's expiring contract ($12 million) and Petro. However, the trade really hinges on Billups because he might not want to play for the Nets; he wants to retire in Denver.

It seems like the whole point of the trade from the Pistons standpoint is to free up cap space. Which is good, because Rip's contract is absolutely disgusting.

Denver is threatening the Nets that they are going to trade Anthony to the Knicks if New Jersey kept publicizing the talks. Threatening the trade to the Knicks won't do Denver any good, since Ujiri has no interest in the Knicks assets, as he covets the 5 first-round picks the Nets have stockpiled over the next two years. Honestly, Denver is losing leverage day-by-day because now they want to dump Harrington's contract as well, which means now that if there is a potential trade, they would need a fourth team. A trade right now would not make sense, since New Jersey is going on a 4 game West Coast road trip, which would leave the Nets to 7 players until the new players arrive. Either way, I would be interested in the Jan. 31 game between the Nuggets and Nets.
This has become a battle of whether New Jersey would grow tired of the demands put by Denver, or Denver having its way of New Jersey wanting Anthony so badly. Either way, I expect Anthony to be traded by the trade deadline because Denver wants something in return before letting Anthony go into Free Agency.
