ZAPHOD! I totally forgot you existed since you never post anywhere. Hey <3 ... I didn't even realize the microblocks are RP2 as well. Sigh. Also xycraft seems to have worldgen, too. So that's three major mods without their worldgen. I think you guys make sense, in general I don't like setting up stuff with the intention of wiping it in the first place 'cause that usually means no motivation for me to build properly but "building properly" seems kinda dull without all the cool stuff from RP2. I'll probably set it up with rather minimal plugins so I can get used to configuring the server side on 1.4 as well, it's probably gonna end up being one big showcase with what the mods can do so guests can explore it as well. | ||

Redpower really is the thing that makes these mods interesting. Once you get a lot of quarries and quantum armor, jetpack and electric tools - with a major power plant running; there really isn't a lot more to do with these mods that you can't do in regular minecraft. Redpower changes that with new building materials, motors and improved redstone. You could make a "lobby" world, for testing and making a nice entrance/meeting place for the server, using it as the temporary world untill we have redpower. | ||

And if my opinion counts at all, I think B and D would be best. Just create a small world so we can toy about for a while getting used to the new stuff, maybe get a little community going. And then once RP EE3 and thuamcraft gets released, just wipe so we can all start from fresh. | ||

Not gonna wait on any of the big stuff to update since we won't have random people around. ~2days ETA max. Aixler is currently working on a thread for the FTB modpack, if any of you guys have screenshots around which show off how stuff works/how awesome you were (Singleplayer welcome, too!) that you did NOT already post in this thread... let him know or post in here. =) | ||

In EE2 e.g. the destruction catalyst (?) was impossible to monitor with Hawkeye so if someone would try griefing with that it was impossible to undo. t.t What's currently the biggest question mark in the pack for me is the GregTech addon. In theory it expands the IC2 endgame while nerfing the earlygame (e.g. Solar Panels) which is fine by me. HOWEVER it changes IC2 receipes people are used to AND its wiki (here) is utter shit. I really like its general idea but since most of the other mods are balanced around IC2/BC it might screw up balance too hard by e.g. making its version of the Mass Fabricator a true endgame thing with an insane price/energy demand. Shitstorm on the FTB forum about it can be found here. | ||

Red Matter has been removed Collectors have been removed Condensers have been removed The Destruction Catalyst/Hyperkinetic Lens have been removed The EMC system will remain, but it will be changed to accomodate new and more interesting mechanics There will be a method to move EMC around in "wires" More configuration options will be available to both players and server admins EE3 will feature an API, which is not complete at this time A transmutation system similiar to the Transmutation Tablet will exist, but is not ready to be disclosed at this time | ||

On a related note, Aixler will post a topic about the FTB modpack tomorrow and our little server will go online at 20:00 CET, 2pm EST. Please note that due to the fact that there are literally zero plugins around for moderation only people we know from previous runs, people that are being vouched for by members and people we have history with otherwise are going to be allowed in. I expect this to change once some major plugins are ported properly to forgecraft, for now we just have to roll with it this way.
