You get enough gold from quests to probably get a draft in once a week, which lets you convert gold to gems and hopefully chain more drafts in. Not sure how easy it is to go infinite when you're drafting against AI and playing against the entire playerbase (with MMR matchmaking), but it's a decent supplement for the card gain. Plus I like the no pressure, easy-to-schedule draft system. It's still infinitely cheaper than paper magic, but definitely not for the hardcore crowd. And of course when EDH. | ||

There's bound to be multiple 0-x players to choose from, and since a bye counts as a win, I sincerely doubt you were still the person with the "worst record". Sounds like the guy setting up the bracket made a mistake or just didn't want to repair because he's an ass. | ||

general: - ranks? Do they even matter or work? Sometimes I get progress, sometimes I don't. I don't see any change in what players I'm playing. There is no leaderboard or reward tied to a rank. Like, the system has no purpose at all. - modi...I like standard and having that and drafts is good. However, please add modern or something. - Friendlist/Battling Friends: One of the most important things that _needs_ to be added. UI: - too laggy (sometimes the clock runs almost all the way down all the way just because it takes the UI so long to have me skip through the phases) - I can't look at cards on the stack - time running down: sometimes it's in really long cast phases with a big stack and while you are trying to pass all the actions correctly, the clock is running down. annoying as fuck, especially with the lag. - search function in deck building seems unintuitive at times Rewards: - no dust mechanic to get rid of excess cards - weird pricing in the shop (please WotC...) Bugs: - time-out (both players are stuck in the game) - UI bugs out, can't look at cards anymore, only double-click for playing cards | ||

There are no plans to bring any eternal formats to the client at this point in time. They said that there will likely be some weird MTGA exclusive eternal format, but that's likely because standard rotation comes up in September and we need a way to use those cards to justify not giving us wildcard refunds for the blocks that rotate. It probably won't be modern. There'll be more details when the rotation comes closer. - Friendlist/Battling Friends: One of the most important things that _needs_ to be added. Yeah, absolutely agree. I have many friends waiting for these codes and other friends who already have their own who don't play because they can't play with their friends. It's far more fun to be able to do that. As far as everything else in your post is concerned, I agree and have experienced those bugs. The locked gamestate one has been around for about three months now and they still haven't fixed it. It's pretty infuriating. It has to do with one of the people in the match disconnecting. They really need to work on that. | ||

Having Arena's main draw being standard ties better with selling packs and stuff and drawing new people in. Giving them Modern doesn't accomplish that much, and a "new Modern" format exclusive to Arena would be more about giving people something to use their old cards with, and a guarantee that "the time you sink into grinding doesn't disappear at rotation" to not scare prospective players away, than about making the game richer/deeper. | ||

Well, it's good to hear that they won't have the same problems they have with MTGO sometimes in regards to implementing new cards. As far as a new format is concerned, I think they might use this as a setup for their next eternal format. They've been talking about setting something up since Frontier became a thing in some circles (Khans block and onwards), but they also said they wouldn't want fetches to be a part of it. Some of the zendikar art made it into the dual lands in MTGA so maybe they'll add back towards origins/BFZ? Who knows. | ||
