I actually kinda like rivals better then alot of recent sets, there are many ways to go(I think there are like 8 viable decks, with a reasonable mix of decks ranging from control, grindy small guys midrange, bigger creature mid range, tribal decks and hyper aggro ranging the full spectrum), there is finally a good mix of answers in sufficient numbers and games last long enough for games not to be decided just by openers, its no triple khans/ravnica but I think its still a good limited set, with as only downside the power level of the bombs and tetzimoc in particular.

Last set I drafted was Battle for Zendikar, and Rivals of Ixalan is certainly better than that format. I guess I just have high expectation given how awesome the Tarikir block was to draft.
And beginning from Dominaria, there will only be single-sets drafts. That will be interesting for sure.

Probably Ensnaring Bridge. Animar only works if he has or wants to build a deck in that colour identity, and Port and Chalice aren't at their best in EDH. Ensnaring Bridge doesn't go in every deck, but at the least its ability is strong and relevant.

The person opening the packs is wearing gloves, all the players were given cotton gloves but decided to ditch them, they do all have sleeves though.
And it's a Rochester Draft, one pack at a time laid out for all players who pick one-by-one.

Yeah Im a little horrified they arent using gloves, but realistically speaking they cant care THAT much about the value, they're probably just fine getting maybe a fingerprint or two on the cards and just living with it lol

I've played a bit, not a lot. I enjoy the drafting they did with this version. Overall just feels like a very modern MTG client.

I just saw a guy playing it in the library and thought to myself "hey, this is not what Magic Online looked like. Is it a new game?". Seems pretty good looking. Does it have the same approach as all the other new online card games like Hearthstone, Elder Scrolls Legends etc. As in, you can buy boosters/sets/whatever with money but are also able to progress without spending money? I didn't like the concept of Magic Online at all. If I'm spending that much money I want to have my printed cards. Is there any place where I could get a comprehensive overview of the game's features?

only t2(standard) for quite some time in future. There is limited and alternate standard formats like singleton to supplement it though.

Guessed as much. A bit of a bummer but it's no surprise. I'll definitely give it a try once it comes out. I doubt I will be able to get a beta key and I don't want to ask Blade for a key since I don't have a lot of time to play atm. anyways.
