Khans has all the power cards for the new standard format, except a couple of the walkers from Origins. There's very few cards besides the lands in BFZ, but I'm buying a box just for them.

From DTK and Origins. There are cards from every set right now used in standard and they will continue to be. You also have no idea what kind of decks will send play and what cards from BFZ will see standard play,so to say it's useful only for the lands is silly especially this early.

You're agreeing with me on the first point. On the second point, buying a box for the full art lands + shots at an expedition and tangolands is a perfectly valid reason to do so. Compared to Khans block (and Theros for that matter), BFZ (fully spoiled now) is an insanely low power set. There's too much good removal for Eldrazi to be a thing. There will probably be a good 3-4 color Ally deck, but mostly people are going to still be playing Junk, Esper Dragons, and some variant of mono-red as the T1 archetypes.

I'm just excited for Theros being gone so I can try to run my green/black megamorph deck which lost 100% of the time to this annoying lady called Elspeth.

I'm honestly not sure if mono-red will be viable, considering Searing Blood, Lightning Strike and Stoke the Flames all rotated. The closest thing to a replacement is Touch of the Void, which is basicly Pillar of Flame + 1 damage, except it costs 2R.

Im hoping the rest of the new zendikar block will have something to offer to compensate for this

Either you're playing 2 drops, or you're fighting the 2 drops. and I have been drafting origins every FNM so thats my general observation on the format

Not sure how you think that's agreeing with you but OK. Mono red is dead as of BFZ. There is not a single card from the set useful in a mono red deck and too much was lost from M15/theros.

Forces opponents to deal with your creatures and making them trade you. - Languish and Reave Soul pretty good. - Don't think you can go wrong with UW Flyers if you are able to. - Deathtouch is not fun to play against ![]()

(1)Can a single 'sacrifice' trigger multiple effects? (for example can I sacrifice a drone and get the 1 colorless mana while also using the ability another creature has to give a target creature -2/-2 for example). (2)Does 'take an extra turn after this one' effect (specifically on Part the Waterveil) work like I think in that you get a complete turn with no restrictions? Does it let you draw, untap, and attack again etc. or are there any restrictions compared to a 'normal' turn? That's all for now but I'm sure I'll have more in the lead-up to the release (this my first pre-release event and I just got into MTG with Origins so all this is new to me).

2) It is a complete turn. You can think of it as skipping your opponent's next turn.
