I have pre-ordered two fat-packs and a booster box. My LGS had a decent deal on a booster box + fat pack together, and after that I pre-ordered another fat-pack because of those full-art basics.

You don't get 80 lands in a BFZ fatpack, you get 20.

Will some sort of BR Dash/Control build be viable? With no real great burn spells left in BFZ rotation there's not really much in the way of Mono-Red or any sort of burn deck that I can see, but there's a ton of dash creatures and it looks to me like the format should be reasonably slow with everyone trying out midrange builds the first couple weeks.
Thoughts?

I mean I had a guy at FNM who had a dash deck that almost got me dead by turn 5, but once I started doing things he kind of fizzled out. If the format is slow enough, I could see it keeping people honest, especially since the premium removal is largely sorcery speed now.
My Junk midrange deck is losing a fair bit and is going to be worse post-rotation. Brood Butcher, Drana, and Drana's Emissary are so close to playable but not quite there. The new Ob Nixilis is freaking awesome, Greenwarden of Murasa is pretty good (dying to Languish sucks though), Dromoka's Command is maindeckable, Fleecemane gets downgraded to Rakshasa Deathdealer, Downfall gets downgraded to Ruinous Path, and courser gets replace with much slower options...currently considering Wingmate Roc, Greenwarden of Murasa, and Oblivion Sower. Also some amount of maindeck Utter Ends because instant speed removal is at such a premium.
The lands don't change much, Canopy Vista isn't all that great in a 3 color deck where there aren't a ton of basics anyway, it's basically just a fetchable tapland. My current list only runs 3 and 2 Shambling Vents, which are freaking awesome.
All the hand disruption has to go to the sideboard because Transgress the Mind isn't a good enough Thoughtseize replacement and Duress is too narrow at what's probably going to be a creature heavy format, but both are boardable. Green retreat is great against aggro decks, essentially doing a worse Courser impression. Painful Truths also seems pretty good in the control matchup, drawing 3 cards for 3 mana is pretty great, even at the cost of 3 life.
From Beyond is also a consideration, not sure yet.

With BFZ coming in at a lower power level than what seems to be leaving with Theros, is it going to allow some decks that might have seen more T1 play to actually get to that point or are we just going to see Abzan dominate everything?
In other news working on a BR/Mardu (can't decide which yet) dragons list. Losing Stormbreath sucks but I'm going to see if Boltwing Marauder will a fitting replacement. Unfortunately no great red or black 3 drop to replace rabblemaster though outside of flamewake phoenix or something

Looking at BR instead of Mardu, I don't have the Crackling Doom package which is really the only reason to play it over straight BR at least IMO. I also don't have the Sarkhans/Dragonlords so depending on how much I like this deck/see the Mardu deck perform I can pick up a couple of each if needed. Boltwings are already in my possession so I may as well use em
Currently the deck is looking like this: + Show Spoiler + Creatures (18) 4x Dragonlord's Servant 1x Chandra Fire of Kaladesh (placeholder for a 4th Flamewake) 3x Flamewake Phoenix 1x Ashcloud Phoenix (placeholder for a 4th Thunderbreak) 3x Thunderbreak Regent 4x Boltwing Marauder 2x Kologhan, Storm's Fury
Spells (17) 3x Crater's Claws 1x Crux of Fate 2x Despise 2x Duress 1x Murderous Cut 4x Foul-Tongue Invocation 4x Draconic Roac
Manabase (25, so far) 4x Bloodfell Caves 1x Bloodstained Mire (will look to pick up full playset) 1x Haven of the Spirit Dragon (probably going to grab 1 more as I have 10 dragons) 12x Mountain 7x Swamp
Sideboard 2x Reave Soul 3x Kologhan's Command 2x Outpost Siege 1x Crater's Claws 3x Self-Inflicted Wound 2x Duress 2x Despise
I think ultimately I'll want to pick up a playset of Exquisite Firecraft as Crater's Claws may not cut it. The one good thing about this deck is outside of the servants/flamewakes everything activates the ferocious trigger.

Best event deck in awhile certainly.
Probably worth picking up just for Hangarback, although the Llanowar and Tasigur and Wraden are all nice

It is going to be hard finding the event deck for MSRP at the start.

stuff like this makes me wish wizards had an official store so that we could just buy it straight from them

that would make way too much sense and be way too easy

Having said that, some stores are able to survive in niche local areas as magic only (see the CFB and SCG stores, as well as rare local stores). If they were to skip the stores and sell directly to people stores would die and their game would die.

Hasbro can stock up on some magic products in their other stores such as Toys R Us if they want to. I do realise that such specialists shops needs "exclusive" products to stay afloat. They have all the random "premium" products that they need such as FTVs to stay afloat. While it is not much, it is a much needed shot in the arm for the shop owners. I will prefer that those unlimited print run products can be sold at more places so that prices can somewhat stay in check. The fluctuation in prices is mostly due to the imperfect distribution of the available stocks currently.
In my opinion, specialists shops should have priority with the cards according to their core level always. Then if there are any leftovers, more stocks could be diverted to them. After all, the specialists shops will always represents a constant demand unlike other places such as Walmart/Target in the US (and other random mass stores in other countries)
