Trading is borked on the beta, you pretty much shouldn't use it unless you're getting free stuff.

That sounds like a game-breaking bug as in it sounds like there's some kind of exploitable aspect to it.
Anyways, Esper with the UW shell is better until we get a Doom Blade. Duress has become sideboard material once again and you can't play a standard tourney without 3 Rest in Peaces. That's what I learned the last week of testing.
Also, Obzedat definitely better than Jace in most match-ups.

I updated my Naya deck. Pretty much strict upgrades all around. BUG delver and aggro are really heavy at my LGS.

Why Garruks main if you are expecting that kind of a meta?

Because they're not terrible against Delver and are absurd against any form of control deck. Against aggro he's not the best, but I brought him in over a Wolfir Silverheart, so he's better than that. Eats a creature with the beast and buys me some life.

Wouldn't smaller Garruk be better then?

I've only tested that particular config against Esper and it's worlds better and against Delver where I only drew it when I was dead on board and Silverheart wouldn't have saved me anyway.

Still better than Standard, I'd rather pay upfront for Legacy then to continuously turn-over my cards for Standard. That is if I cared enough to play Legacy. Casting Brainstorm is hard enough, I don't want to even consider casting Cabal Therapy.

I love brainstorm and jace, unban jace in modern and reprint brainstorm and fetches in m14 plz. Man I would love to see people misplaying brainstorms at fnm, seeing it in edh isn't enough.
|
I want to say that fetches might be reprinted at some point because Wizards want/need the Modern entry barrier to be low and somehow 35 dollar fetches seems to be counter to that idea and 10+ dollar filter lands seems also.
YuGiOh (not the same game I know) had a similar situation with their format staples being from the much earlier sets and was forced to reprint them in order for newer players to enter the game (much like Legacy in MtG) without the expensive upfront cost.
In either case, they are kind of running out of land ideas for the core set as this rotation of lands has been in standard for the last 3+ years, not sure what kind of twist they can add to it. Would be ultimate troll if they brought back karoo lands.
My friend brought up an interesting point regarding the core set lands as being generically named and ambiguously located in that you can realistically find them on any of the settings for the 2 blocks that are in standard at a time.

Installed the non-beta client. Still the bot can't find cards -.- uh, whatever, I guess I'm not trading.

Some bots aren't maintained very often and they break. Try another bot?

welp i was trying to fit Ajani into modern UWR and it turns out I should have just played him in Jund...

9th place sigh... Fuck eggs. Fuck. Eggs. Dude wins g1 and then g2 goes to turns and he stalls even though he has no chance of winning.

Speaking of Eggs...Kiebler lost to Eggs in quarters at the GP.

I'm looking for a little advice on building a standard pauper deck for tournament at my LGS. I've never actually built a deck with a predefined decklist, and I also have only a vague idea of what to expect from other pauper decks. Uncommons once printed as commons are allowed (rancor, Oring). I'm also not very familiar with cards outside of gatecrash.
With that in mind, my (tentative) list looks something like this:
+ Show Spoiler +4 wojek halbredier 4 daring skyjek 4 skyknight legionaire 4 splatter thug 4 mogg flunkies
removal: 4 mugging 4 Oblivion ring 3 pacifism
enchants: 3 madcap skills 4 ethereal armor
land: 4 boros guildgate 9 mountain 9 plains
board: 4 searing spear 4 erase 4 martial glory 3 <undecided>
Should I cram more creatures/ faithless looting into the board in case I go against heavy removal? Is 22 lands correct? If you have an idea on something I can improve on I'd like to know!

You could check http://pdcmagic.com/gatherling/eventreport.php for some ideas, though I don't think rancor is legal for those events. I've never played the format, but here are some thoughts: Rancor is pretty busted, but common aggressive green creatures are sort of meh. I'd drop the enchantment theme for straight burn and more creatures, searing spear, brimstone volley, etc. O-ring will pretty much always hit a creature anyway, burn spells can do that also and will give your deck reach. Versus control/heavy removal, the enchantments are also your weakest link (unless they are named rancor). They are just setting you up to be 2 of 1'ed. Same goes for faithless looting, the card won't help you against heavy removal since it is actually card disadvantage, just jam more cheap evasive creatures.
