The concepts are still all the same, the way you play the game is the same. It's absolutely better than Halo 3, imo. I loved Halo 2 MP, but that's probably somewhat due to it being the only decent console option at the time. I think I probably look at it with pretty rosy nostalgia glasses on. I'm a person that HATES spending money, especially on games, and more so on things that are not worth my money. While I didn't spend a dime of new money on it, I was absolutely ready to after playing it for a couple of hours at a friend's house. I think that, if you liked Halo: CE, this one is worth the money. So far, I think it's the best one since then, and I loved Halo 2. The skill curve is definitely greater than it was in Halo 3 or even 2, because of the DMR shot timing (I think so, anyway). The maps are poor right now, but that'll get better as Bungie starts to incorporate community forge maps (like Damnation and Prisoner) into MP (which, btw, totally brings back CE feelings... Damnation is an almost perfect remake, there may be a few tricks that you can't do anymore that I was never aware of in the first place). The best bet is still to rent it first, if you can get it somewhere for less than Blockbuster charges (~$10 per rental), and play for a few hours to make sure for yourself. But I was not going to buy the game at all, this thread and my friends talking about it piqued my interest... then I played it for myself, and it's a really good game. Campaign is solid so far as well. Thanks for telling me. I will mostly likely rent it and of course if I like it I will definitely buy it, it would be awesome if they start incorporating good forge maps, that is another downfall of Halo 3 that really bummed me out of liking Halo 3.

There was also the mauler, which was one of the best weapons in the game, imo. The hammer was terrible though, given the amount of time it took to swing.

It was two shots, but they decreased the range and accuracy. It was nice shooting someone with one, jumping back while switching to BR and then BOOM HEAD SHOT. That's probably what I dislike the most out of the progression in games, is the weapon switch time. I know it was done to combat comboing, because that's all anyone did in Halo 2, but I think there are other ways to do that (like decreasing the homing ability, and draining power on the weapon constantly).

Every time I respawn, I switch weapons. So that way I don't have to go through that animation of turning the safety off when in battle. I don't see why that was necessary.

It's just another adjustment to make though.

On a different note, I was playing rumble pit and got two kills for killing just one person. It said "Double Kill" with the medal but at the bottom left, it said You killed ***, twice. Weird... Hope they fix that glitch... I think Halo Reach is maybe the best Halo they have made. It's more interesting to play than Halo 1 and has great matchmaking compared to Halo 2 and 3. I really enjoy the armor abilities because they add something an element to the game that is not completely new. I've definitely made it worth the forty bucks I spent on it! Hahaha. P.S. I still don't understand how people get so many damn points from firefight... Makes no sense at all. I get like only 1500 points at the most from one firefight on matchmaking...

If you can shoot in the right places, such as walls and corners, you can down people's shields with it and one shot em with a pistol or DMR. Or the launcher itself can blow them up if you hit em close. The focus rifle is also pretty good if you use it with the plasma pistol combo, however I'd take a DMR over it any day. And the plasma sticky launcher gun is FUCKIN AWESOME. It's so fun to mess around with! You can target a person, like on Hemmorhage, and wait for the reticule to turn red and focused on that person, and when there is one full circle on the reticule, just let go of the trigger and watch the sticky literally track that person where ever that person goes! Only downside is people are getting better with armor-lock and realizing that using it while stuck makes sticky grenades "not sticky." But yeah. Oh, and you can lock onto a person/vehicle from a super long distance. It's really fun watching the sticky just track a person down across hemmorhage. People grabbing the sniper and jetpacking up there is ruining that map for me. I know MLG redid the map. My guess is that they did exactly that. That gays up the matches so hard. If you have a teammate who is good with that sniper, then you can pick off the jetpackers before they get up there though.

I mean, they fixed the space area on Zealot (only on Arena though >.>). Also, I've started to time the weapon spawns. I feel like I'm a team coach, or coordinator now. Lol
