i wish rift would add that stuff from WAR. as it is now rift pvp is a muddy faceroll, unpolished. its like they just assumed their systems would work in pvp without testing them properly. let me rephrase, their systems do work in pvp, but they are not fun. to the guy on the last page who was saying that wardens could outheal his damage, and ranged can kite, etc. this is a TEAM game. 1v1 balance is not realistic in my experience in a game like this. | ||

In all MMOs, ranged DPS dominates until people get geared out & max level. Gear tends to effect meleers more than casters, and melee chars generally gain skills to mitigate the range effect (snares, anti-cc, etc) as they level up more. Stop with the chicken-little sky-is-falling stuff. I'm playing a melee, too. | ||

One thing to add, is that people are probably a lot more reluctant to do BGs and stuff as a melee, UNLESS you are with a premade. As a melee, I'm not to fond to jump into a BG by myself and have to rely on random people to heal / help me. Ranged you can just sit back and hang out with all the other ranged players, likely to get a heal just because everyone is around you, but being melee is a different story. | ||

Its not imbalanced at all, my highest level is a warlock and its not as simple as dotting someone up and running away. You have to be very activate with your fears and stuns and if any melee hero with a two handed weapon happens to catch you its pretty much GG, your dots wont even kill him in time to save you, and you sure as hell arent gonna be standing still and casting void bolts. Marksman can also handle that combination of classes pretty easily since they outrange/outdps your dots even if you miraculously happen to get all your dots (including neddras grasp) on them. Whos to say some cleric just throws a couple of heals on someone and thereby reducing the chance of them dying to zero percent? | ||

I spent 4 hours yesterday fighting myself to make a great PvP build. Void Knight / Pally / Champion 2 in combat charges (1 champ 1 pally) 1 "get over here" pull (void knight) 29% damage reduction from spells (void knight + pally) 2 CC breakers (1 pally 1 champ) Ungodly amounts of mana burn / Silences. (Fuck yea Void Knight) 3 buff purge and 3 debuff dispel (Fuck yea Void Knight) I am trying to build the ultimate warrior caster/healer killer. With all the charges and "get over here move" and my 2 CC breakers....I should be on top of the caster at all times. This paired with mana burn + silence + spell reflect = dead caster. This is exactly why I LOVE this soul system. What other game can I really customize to my play style THAT MUCH. Can't waaaaiiiitttt to play this game!
