Thank you for your kind answers my friends! Yes they do have a lot of exp boost, and many other. You buy gems from their store which you can exchange for gold in game, with that you can buy the most powerful items with stats from trade post. There are only some skins which you cannot buy, only earn in game. It's the way they sustain their servers and other expenses. Thank you but you did not answer my question fully. so gold, i can gain from the game (i am the grind master after all >.>) exp, ...heh lvl cap is a joke for me so far i dont need any cash items are there any other cash items that makes you powerful? speedy? gain HP? etc...you know what i mean, pretty much make you character have advantage over other players (when PvPing, or PvEing):D thanks again! For those, in short, no. good good, i think im still gonna wait till they update cash items, they will slowly put stuff up that will clearly give advantage over the players who dont buy cash items, its only matter of time, imo, just like what they did in fucking MS T___T thank you for your answers guys!! GW2 is not by the same developers of MS. GW2 is from Arenanet. and? your point? they are using cash items to maintain the servers and other expenses, but they will get greedy some point. Uh no, they won't release shit that gives players an advantage that you can buy for real life money. You do know this is guild wars 2. Meaning there was a 1. Where they didn't sell anything that gave players an advantage either. And those servers are still alive. So many fucking conspiracy theories in this thread. It's incredible how many people think game companies are out there to steal your soul. and it seems like they already stole yours.
Yeah I mean, it's so horrible when these soul-deprived people have valid points and what not, especially when those who's souls are yet to be taken like yourself can just use your seer-like powers and show a company like Arenanet's true intentions.

Oh Emulator!! Welcome!!!
Had a good run tonight in WvWvW after the reset. Server is currently in second place and closing in on first!!
I thought WvWvW wasn't going to be much fun I was soo wrong. I really enjoy played it most of the day today. I think the only thing about this game is that you have to do your own investigative work. Its not steep by any means you just kinda run around at first not knowing what to do. Then when you get it you realize how good WvWvW is.
Will have to play around with sPvP a little more I think I will wait till about 60 for that when I have had more time to play with more skills.
So far having a blast, working some strategy in Team Speak helped too.

just a thought...

Hey, I have been without internet for a week or so, and is downloading the game atm, but with a really slow connection so it will take a while (days), and was wondering if anyone could guide me to what profession to choose when I start playing, so I don't waste any more time on trying to figure it out. Im not the best in mmorpg's, but I consider my self more than decent. I have played a feral druid (both cat and bear) in wow from BC, and I really enjoyed that class. I have also played a sorcerer in Aion, and it was incredibly fun to play. Any advice on what professions I should try out, or stay away from would be wonderful.

ArenaNet won't EVER implement pay-to-win items into the game. The sPvP sytem is COMPLETELY SEPARATE from PvE. Everyone is on a level playing ground when you zone into the sPvP area. Your PvE gear does get carried over to WvW though, but everyone's stats get boosted.

What are the rewards for playing PvP in GW2? In GW1 you pretty much got titles (and shiny emotes ) and primary in the later stages Itemskins.
And what about the endgame gear? In GW1 you coul get items with maximun stats on them pretty fast und super cheap, only different rare itemskings were expensive. Is this similar in GW2, getting max stat items really easy, or is this like all the other MMO's where you have to grind quite a lot to get maxed?
I'd appreciate it if someone took the time and answered these questions (even though these questions might have been asked quite often already).

i can only offer a small bit of info. for weapon swapping 'buffs', warrior classes are the ace with all the dual wielding (sword axe, axe sword, axe warhorn, sword warhorn) and the choice between ranged weapons (rifle, longbow) and two handed melee (greatswords, hammer). you have a lot of choices and combinations in that way. however complicated that may seem, you are up to your own style of play, but tanking in this game is generally less effective than in others (it is actually skill based, and does not necessarily require a shield). it's mostly about regenerating damage dealt and damage received rather than tanking and healing, as health and healing abilities are quite precious.
that said, a lot of classes place debuffs regularly, and it's not uncommon to have a chain of 4 different conditions on you that brings you to a crawl. warriors mostly slow or stun enemies, while many of the other classes have crowd control and place vulnerabilities to make fights end quicker.
mobility is a big thing when it comes to this game, and you have a dodge-roll bar (2 evades within the entire bar) i'm not sure how i would rate each class compared to one another since there are many options and situations, but the thief class definitely take the cake when it comes to shifting around very quickly.
having played only warrior to level 80, i have to say that this class is geared towards a rush-down spec in PvP because of all the condition removal they're given. don't be fooled though beause their ranged attack is quite strong (almost entirely damage dealing) and with some of the longest range abilites.
i hear that elementalisits have no such weapon swapping, or very little ability to do so. one of my friends at level 65 is pretty frustrated with himself for being able to score easier kills in world vs world and PvP. this is purely opinion, but i feel that elementalists are slightly disadvantaged in 1v1 situations.
guardians and necromancers (their summons seem quite strong to me!) can be f*cking hard to kill in PvP. that's all i can really say about them ):
when it comes to the PvE environment, you'll have to get used to a set of extremely similar events. they will all be similar sort of tasks with small deviations (very understandable given the scale of the game). mobility, aoe, and good survivability, and kiting is most beneficial imo.
what's differnet in gw2 compared to a lot of games (except maybe left 4 dead) is that it's quite easy to bring your teammates back up from 'death'. there are a lot of abilities that make that easier whenever you're facing a tough foe.
instances/dungeons can be quite chaotic and difficult if you don't carry some utility/aid/skills for teammates or a ranged weapon swap.

as far as i know, there are items (gained from completing/exploring a map 100%) that transform the skin of your weapon into another weapon of your choice.
PvP experience is gained through the arenas/tournaments and you gain skins/looks from PvP where you can't anywhere else.
equipment is slightly more customizable in gw2, though it is more expensive to gain (espeically with all the weapons that a character can use/swap between at will) though crafting helps with that.
that's all i can offer as i haven't experienced much of sPvP yet.

There are items you get as quest rewards that allow you to mix-and-match 2 weapons, so you can take the skin of one weapon, the stats of the second one and then the rune of either of them. For Items of level 1-79 they are quite common rewards, i'm level 37 and have 10+ of them in my bank eventhough i already used quite a few. For level 80 they are a little less common, i have 3 of those in my bank that i got for some quest. However, I don't know if there are vendors for those making them more easily accessible.

Yo is there a TL guild for the american servers? I'm pretty bored just playing by myself

Still enjoying the game but I'm pretty sure I hate WvWvW. Maybe it's just because my friends always go to Eternal Battleground (are the others even easier), but I can't even make any ground or progress. You can take a camp but then the other realms send everything ever at you. I played for an hour and there was no change in layout by the time I got bored and left.
It seems to be based around mass tactics which are never going to happen in this sort of setting. We've just had our servers swapped around after getting stuck versus a High pop server (I'm on low) for the last week but we're still just in huge fights. Everyone I fight seems to be able to escape and nobody has any focus whatsoever. When you're 50 people you should just be able to kill a guy instantly but it never happens.
It's also so hard for me to formulate any kind of build for WvWvW. I want conditions/toughness for enemies, AoE for big enemies and single target damage for objectives. I cannot have all of that.
Edit: I'm pretty sure WvWvW is a level 80 place to be. I can't happily buy blueprints knowing that they're a significant amount of my total gold.

It can get zergy some times in WvWvW but from what I have seen at least on our server is that its still alot of new people to the game. Its zergy cause no one really understands it yet. After playing for like 4 hours of WvWvW yesterday I have seen that if there is a specific point you want people to go to if you /say it usually a good size element will go. I honestly think WvWvW is a place where people want some direction and some orders.

WvWvW depends a lot on informing everyone of what is happening.
If you just go somewhere and expect others to magically be there, it won't work. However, if you say something like "Hey, there is an undefended supply camp at X, lets take it", some players will go there and try to capture it with you. If you say "There is a group X of enemies near Y moving towards Z" then your allies will go to Z and defend it.
I luckily had experience from LotRO Monsterbattles which is very similar, so i have some experience with telling people what they need and want to know.
You won't ever get everyone to go somewhere but if you give everyone some information, some of them will react to it and others will follow.
However, it can get really annoying if your server is far weaker than the other 2.

I have realized why our sever was crushed by Stormbluff. WarMachine is some huge guild on that server 200 people plus.

What helps a lot is you can link the points of interest in map/team chat so that even if they have no clue where they need to go, the map will show them when they click the link.
