This scares the hell out of me knowing how much of a nightmare it can be just trying to get the same party in the same instance let alone guesting to another server lol. Having a blast with the game,I'm about 35 now. TLRR fighting!

You're playing on the servers ArenaNet provide. They own the servers. Not you. It's not your "liberty" to exploit the game, or be a twat to other people on their servers. I think it's fairly simple: Don't be a dickhead, don't try and cheat, and you won't get banned. That's pretty much the best business sense ArenNet can have. Communities can make or break games. Kick out the people that are bad for the community. Let them learn that being a dick doesn't get you ahead in life.
And from a financial perspective, ArenaNet come out quids in. If they don't buy a new account, they probably weren't going to be a source of revenue anyway. But maybe they do buy a new account. ArenaNet profit, and also probably push most of the assholes away from the game. Suits me.
Yes, I realize they can legally do whatever the hell they want, but there are enough assaults on liberties in real life- I don't need them in my video games as well. It used to be that I would wait on buying a game to see if it was good, now I have to wait and see how much of a dick the devs are and where they stand politically. It's a joke.
People going crazy over the ToS need to stop right now. How many of you have Steam? You do realize that under Steam's ToS, they can cut your access to all your games, and you'll never get to play them again, and they can do this without a reason and whenever they want? Do you ever hear people complain about it? Of course not. Cause it doesn't fucking happen. This is standard legal jargon. Yeah bloated ToS are bullshit, but you can chill with the conspiracy theories.
This isn't fucking rocket science people. You open a merchant, he's selling a ton of epic gear for 3k karma. One peice of gear in particular is listed for say, 3 karma. Now, is your reaction to this:
A) Buy a thousand of them and use them to make a shit load of money while sending your servers economy to the shitter. or B) Buy one or a couple for yourself, or none at all!
If you can't figure out that one of those reactions is a bad one, you're probably banned already. Use your brain. Use common sense. If you can't, then good, the ToS is doing it's job. This is like video game natural selection. Give it a year and we will have hopefully weeded out all the exploiters and jack asses.

To be honest, the karma/crafted food selling can't even be stretched as a exploit. Banning people because they bought weapons that were cheaper due to an error on their part or banning them because they bought ingredients with karma and vendored them for some profit is the same as trying to sue ppl who got a good deal on their gas because the gas station clerk made a mistake in their prices. If I see that a certain item is worth a reasonable amount if I vendor them, you're going to call it an exploit simply because you want to save face and put the blame on the players instead of your staff is hilarious. In wow or tera or any other mmo the staff would have simply just removed all the items that were bought with the mistaken prices and just rolled back their stuff.

Not if you just act like a mature adult.
By mature adult, do you mean pedantic and pretentious? I'm too old to "grow up" by now.

He means if you have common sense or reasonable judgement.

Okay, you really need some context here. See how much of a dick the devs are? These people who got banned bought sometimes up to a thousand of an item that they knew was clearly listed at the wrong price. These people didn't think they just got lucky and ANet was having a sale on this particular item. They knew they were exploiting and just didn't expect much of a punishment for it.
ANet had said that the magic number was like between 50 and 100. Little Billy who didn't know any better and bought one for himself thinking its a great deal didn't get banned.
Regardless, this is all irrelevant. ANet has already backed off the perma ban stance (in this particular instance) and are giving these players their accounts back. But this shouldn't matter. If you're getting perma banned, you're going to know why. Because it's going to be very obvious that what you're doing is an exploit. You aren't getting put in prison for j walking.
nota's post above already covers the way I see it. If people were using third party programs or hacks, I could see punishing them. This was anet's screw up and what they did was not cool at all.
I think 72h is fine for exploiting something in the game. A nice slap on the wrist. A permanent ban for botting makes sense to me; it probably breaks some sort of agreement you make when downloading the game. Nothing wrong here.
Quick question: i have 4gb of ram in my compuer and I am just barely able to run on low settings. I just won 2 sticks of 8gb ram at pax, will putting these into my system allow a much smoother gameplay? Or is the difference between 4g and 16gb neglible when on low settings anyway?

the ram will only impact your performance if you are running multiple programs in the background otherwise the game functions off of the memory on your graphics card and your processing power

Do they have stuff like FUCKING MAPLESTORY?
What I mean by that is, do some of the cash items give Strength ADVANTAGE (moer powerful, teleport anywhere, gain extra 50% exp, etc) for you character? if its LIKE MAPLESTORY CASH ITEM, I am not playing another cash item fest game
Thank you for your kind answers my friends!
Yes they do have a lot of exp boost, and many other. You buy gems from their store which you can exchange for gold in game, with that you can buy the most powerful items with stats from trade post. There are only some skins which you cannot buy, only earn in game. It's the way they sustain their servers and other expenses.
Thank you but you did not answer my question fully. so gold, i can gain from the game (i am the grind master after all >.>) exp, ...heh lvl cap is a joke for me so far i dont need any cash items
are there any other cash items that makes you powerful? speedy? gain HP? etc...you know what i mean, pretty much make you character have advantage over other players (when PvPing, or PvEing):D thanks again!
For those, in short, no.
good good, i think im still gonna wait till they update cash items,
they will slowly put stuff up that will clearly give advantage over the players who dont buy cash items, its only matter of time, imo, just like what they did in fucking MS T___T
thank you for your answers guys!!
GW2 is not by the same developers of MS. GW2 is from Arenanet.
and? your point? they are using cash items to maintain the servers and other expenses, but they will get greedy some point.

you don't need to spend a dime in game. You also won't be at any real disadvantage if you don't.
You can also trade gold for gems ingame through the broker.
I LIKE 100000X times! i might as well play it soon :D

Uh no, they won't release shit that gives players an advantage that you can buy for real life money. You do know this is guild wars 2. Meaning there was a 1. Where they didn't sell anything that gave players an advantage either. And those servers are still alive. So many fucking conspiracy theories in this thread. It's incredible how many people think game companies are out there to steal your soul.
