Ahh finally. It lasted longer than I suspected it would, pretty excited to finally try it out. Subscription models just aren't going to work for gaming anymore, specifically mmos that don't completely rewrite the rules and do something amazingly different. At the time WoW launched it was pretty damned revolutionary and it has stayed ahead of the pack pretty much ever since then. Thats like the only way you can get away with it.

Didn't think the game would last as long as it did, but now that it's free I see no reason not to hop back in and play some here and there. It still boasts one of the more fun combat systems in any MMO.

I'd imagine quite a few people are going to pick this game up again now that its free; I'm thinking of doing so as well. However, does anyone actually play the game atm? Don't really wanna go into an mmo with no people playing

tera was quite popular in korea i think, but it lacked endcontent and now everyone plays the other action mmo by ncsoft. I think its blade and souls. I wish they would release that one in EU allready.

Aion is just a horrible grindfest, there is nothing interesting in this game at all.
PvP looks like fun, but to do it, you need months of horrible grinding, else everyone who did the horrible grinding will 3 shot you and laugh.

I'm curious, what are the most important changes from 2 months after launch till now?
are Mystics still the same (crappy pets/ no scalability/ unfinished class)

In terms of classes, Warriors got a block and some other tanking tools. Warriors and Lancers also got a new resource for tanking but I forgot what it was called. It's basically like Focus for a Rogue in WoW. Overall, it's forced bad Lancers to stop blocking all day and make them to use other abilities. It also means that Lancers can use their mana for offense and aggro generation without needing to ration it for defense.

Berzerkers are now the top dogs of the dps pack. Their AoE ability Cyclone doesn't scale down in damage with multiple targets so they hit everything for 100% damage all the time now. This is a feature unique only to Berzerkers. They also got the charge time on all abilities significantly reduced.

All other classes function the same.

I actually had quite some fun with that game and enjoyed playing my Priest a lot, but to me it came out at a bad time and most people stopped playing and it just faded away for me.

I just saw yesterday that it's going F2P now, but I'm not really sure if I should check back into the game.
