Though we'll see how good we are for a quarter or so against a good D and O this week in the Ravens... LOL NO Eagles got rid of him for a reason Because the Eagles have one of the most inept front offices in the league?? They had a guy who was a top10 quarterback or better every year in the league and they supplied him with passing weapons exactly twice in his career. The dude even gets blamed for the fucking defense shitting the bed in the SB because he couldnt dig them out of a hole for the umpteenth guy. Philly totally deserves the incoming 6-10 season. For the first time ever, I'm actively going to be rooting for McNabb to curbstomp the shit out of the redskins.
I think you meant Philthy instead of the Redskins. :p
Anyway, I'm anxious to see what they can do this Fri against Raven's first team D and O. Should be a good test.. and then Jets after that. Should give a decent barometer to how we'll do in NFC East this year

2006: Good: Maroney, Addai, MJD (Maroney and Addai died in terms of keeper) Bad: Reggie Bush, Napoleon Williams, LenWhale (only Napoleon's still chugging)
2007: Good: All Day, Marshawn (Marshawn is borderline atm) Bad: Kenny Irons, Chris Henry, Brandon Jackson (...)
2008: Good: Jon Stewart, CJ, Matt Forte (all studs, except for maybe Forte) Bad: DMac, Felix Jones, Mendenhall, Ray Rice (Mendenhall and Rice rebounded)
2009: Good: Knowshon (arguably) Bad: DBrown, Beanie, McCoy, special mention to Greene
You have like a 50% chance of hitting on a rookie year RB's production, and when it comes to prolonged career success it gets even worse. So I guess my "amazingly rare" impression comes from all these RBs falling off the map, but eh.
From my perspective "sleeper RB picks" tend to be tail-end RBs like Knowshon (2nd round pick in 5-man keeper) and Ray Rice's second year (first-round pick) and Leron McClain (2nd round pick). But I guess because of Spiller's status as a 3rd RB he might fall more.
*shrugs* Beanie came on mid-season and fell off. He wasn't really "bad," but he wasn't really "good" either. If you had him in weeks like 4-9 he was a solid player for you. Mareno was a major disappointment all year long almost. Greene came on strong at the end of the year, I think he's in a similar spot to Beanie. I agree with everyone else saying people would have to be really dumb to think McCoy was going to be a stud. Assume D Brown is Donald Brown... I don't even know what team he plays for, but I remember thinking that he wasn't going to do shit. '08 you forgot Slaton, who was a STUD. He and Forte carried my team in '08. And I think Forte will rebound this year. It's hard to be good when you have three defenders hitting you four yards behind the line on almost every snap. Though we'll see how good we are for a quarter or so against a good D and O this week in the Ravens... LOL NO Eagles got rid of him for a reason Yeah, they're fucking dumb. That's like saying "The Broncos got rid of Cutler, and Marshall for a reason." Just because a team lets a player go doesn't make it a good decision. between concussions, wear and tear, and just being a small back, westbrook is a shell of the player he once was why do you think it took until august for someone to sign him? He's never played 16 games in a season, plus he's 31, so few running backs last until they're 30, he's not going to do much this season. we'll see how much they expect from him...
What? Why was I quoted in that? I didn't mention Westy at all. Unless you're responding to the part that I referenced the Broncos in... in which case, I assumed the other guy was talking about McNabb.
As much as I hate the Raiders, I agree that it's his title. Nnamdi is so sick, I'm glad he'll get to prove it this year and shut all the doubters up.

Aye, I too hate the Raiders, but I also hate seeing one of the most dominant CBs in the history of the game somehow get relegated to second-best-CB-in-the-league status. Mind-blowing.

A few of us from last years TL fantasy football are back so if you're interested, send me a PM. If there's room, you'll be added. Aiming for either 12 or 14 managers. If you're a really new poster, chances are you won't get in. Why? Since I've been in TL fantasy sport leagues for about 5 years now in all four major sports, activity has always been a problem and it's usually been with the newer members

Should of gotten Jimmy Clausen, but there's always Jake Locker next year. As for my Rams, we're nowhere near playoff berths but a 6-10 season sounds like a significant improvement in our current state. Best of luck for CJ Spiller.

I didn't understand our draft at all. Besides not drafting a coach, because we can't, it made no sense. The only position we HAVE depth in, is Running back with Lynch and Jackson, while we desperately need a Quarterback, and what do we do ? Grab the #1 Rb in the draft.. and NEVER grab a QB, while there were a few good ones even late into the draft. I know many are saying bills did it to position themselves to drade Lynch... but so far.... seems like we're stuck with 3 good backs, a good wide reciever, and a QB who hasn't been the same since the cardinals body slammed him.

as a die-hard jet fan, i can look past my bias and say nnamdi is better than revis. although revis is clearly the second best corner in the league (the ap defensive player of the year was a joke), he played on the best defense. coverage is always easier when you have an extremely talented unit. nnambi has bags of hammers supporting him.

I have been watching for a few years but I still don't really have a team to cheer for. Oh Americans, sell your side to me! Right now I like the Cowboys but they feel a bit douchey.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Leinart does with the reins in AZ this year. I think he's going to surprise everyone and have a very serviceable year. The running game should be pretty good too.

My girlfriends family are huge bills fans, and they have become my second favorite team to follow (I still love my packers too much. Either way, I was really upset at the draft choices for the Bills when they CLEARLY needed a change in the quarterback position. I would rather see them bring back JP Losman then use Edwards or Fitzpatrick since he actually takes some chances with long balls (but maybe that's just me). I was at the preseason opener against the redskins and I was upset at how bad they looked in the QB position as always (and I was pissed at how obnoxious redskins fans are because they are looking like they may actually do well this season). Hopefully this will just be a season to rebuild and get some draft choices for next season -.-''
Now on to mai packers! I don't think we will be able to win the division as easily now that the vikings got favre back, but I'm sure we will be having a great season! We easily have the one of the top 5 quarterbacks in the league right now (imo), and every aspect of our team is looking the better than they have in awhile
CANT WAIT!!!!
