Man... that 9ers loss has me so disappointed here. It's like when I discovered that Santa isn't real. Shit. I can imagine how Hawk feels about this one.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is a degenerative disease that effects the brain and believed to be caused by repeated head trauma resulting in large accumulations of tau proteins, killing cells in regions responsible for mood, emotions, and executive functioning. The chronic injuries sustained by repeated and untreated concussions has shown to damage the brain over time.
Numerous former professional athletes, particularly former National Football League players are believed to have had this disease, however the NFL denies the validity of the research on CTE.

So I was down .4 points in my fantasy league during the 9ers last possession (I had Marques Colston still playing). And lo and behold, niners convert the two-pointer and Brees tosses it to Colston for a miraculous win. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. So happy. =D

So I was up by FIFTY-TWO points and.... yeah I won.
I also held out for the saddest victory ever: Final Boss 50.89

I've wondered the same thing since this all started.
I'm Final Boss.
I think it's clear who InToTheWannaBsG-Men is. You just used your name. Hawk is obvious (though it'd be hilarious if that's not him). DKay and Rei are also obvious. DTown Destruction is DTown (though I've no idea who that is). Dontes Greatest Hits is Drakkon (same as DTown to me). And I have NO clue who the rest of the people are.

I'm trying to get Frank Gore on my team. I tried offering Greg Jennings and Jamal Charles, but have yet to receive any bites. The guy that has him already starts Knowshon and AP. Got him for trading Portis and 2other trashcans. Hopefully he wants to upgrade his not so great WR group. I say that, but he's 2-0 and has been winning comfortably.

who the hell gave up Frank Gore for anything other than a top 5 first round pick? With AP + Gore and Moreno at Flex even a bad WR core isn't going to stop him from doing damage. He doesn't have an elite QB too does he?

After disappointing week 1, Gore PRODUCED! Gore and Schaub double handedly won me the match this week. =]

fuck football FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRR
Alex Smith is the worst fuckigng tease ever. the moron gave a bad pass that led to the tip by gore that caused the int (seriously, how do you overshoot a checkdown like that?? pressure was coming, but not on him yet)
then he goes and has that fuckin beastmode drive at the end. Seriously, that's the reason he got drafted. he really is smart when he choses to be, realizing his receivers are all boned and taking off. he's got good mobility, but makes the worst fucking decisions at times.
and then our shit secondary, which is only forgotten because patrick willis seemingly covers everywehre, fucking blows the game. FUKKKKK
FUCKKKKKKKKKK

oh man, even with your anti-flacco boner you still drafted him?

Eh, SL is usually pretty good on football chats, but even he makes questionable statements at times! Take a look at this gem I found today while trying to find some really old post on my banned acct:

solid game last night, 49ers looked completely different from the team that got stomped by seahawks.
but then again, all teams play well on monday night football because of the hype. games are usually close so who knows

After the disaster first period, they didn't look bad. The playcalling was also not nearly as boring and bland as it was last week. Smith was effective enough that New Orleans had to respect when the Niners came out in 3 wide formations. For some reason, they want a power running game but still use Gore soooo much in single back formations. It works when people respect our pass, but that so rarely happens.... plus, I think Gore is just overall a much better runner when he's got blocking support from a FB or TE.

Panthers suck-_-. So depressed. I want Jimmy over Matt Moore, but these QB controversies hardly ever turn out well.

Re: Alex Smith
Bill Simmons wrote: Good times! That should have been enough to bury my creeper pick, but this bitter e-mail after Alex Smith's latest stink bomb from Brett in San Jose pushed me over the top:
"Ways to tell that Alex Smith is your quarterback:
1. Zips passes 80 mph at receivers five yards away. 2. Instead of running three yards for the first down when he has a clear path, throws it to receivers at point blank range who aren't expecting it. 3. Runs in the direction of the pressure. 4. Executes play-fake perfectly on fourth-and-1 at the goal line only to overthrow the wide-open fullback. 5. Gleefully checks down to his backs on third-and-20. 6. Every deep ball thrown has the expected completion percentage of a Hail Mary. 7. Starts sprinting towards the sideline even when the pocket protection is perfect."
I would have added a No. 8: "Never stops hoping to become the first quarterback ever to throw a football through a linebacker to the tight end behind him." But I guess seven was enough. Damn you, Alex Smith. I forgot you were that bad.
This was after the Seahawks game. While he certainly looked ok, I'm not buying that he's a different QB after one decent Monday night performance. I think it's going to be a long season for SF. Luckily, they're in a division where going 6-10 might get them to the playoffs.

So Braylon Edwards got a DUI, that's gonna be like 4 weeks suspension. Tough break for the Jets, I bet David Clowney can't believe his luck.

You're getting him. He's already been named starter.

Hahaha... I still think he could have been better than he was in Cleveland. But, given his and DA's performances with competent teams now, I can't blame nearly as much on the WR's and line. Their supporting cast still sucked ass in CLE though. But hey, we all miss sometimes. Mike Mayock, who I think is the best talent evaluator on TV, completely missed on MJD (and he apologizes to him all the time for it, hahaha).
I took Flacco because he was the best QB available. The big three were gone, Rodgers was gone, Schaub was gone, Romo was gone (I think, I certainly would have taken him over Flacco)... I think Eli was gone, and I think Matt Ryan was too. I think Cutler was still there, but that's a big risk as your #1 QB with that team.
Then there were certainly guys like McNabb, Palmer, Garrard, VY, Orton, Sanchez, etc.. tier 3 QB's. I figured that Flacco, with all that talent around him, projected to have the best season of the remaining QB's, and he probably will, even though he sucks balls. It's hard to be as bad as Flacco really is when you have an all-pro line, one of the top HB's in the game, a couple of the best WR's in the game (Mason and Boldin, TJ's garbage comparatively, imo... which means he's like a C+/B- WR, while Boldin is an obvious A and Mason is like a B+, but extremely underrated).

I read that and thought "for some reason that seems awesome to me," then I realized they play Miami next week, and I have Miami's D. Awesome that he's out, should help me out in fantasy this week.

I agree in your logic in taking Flacco (I was high on him too) but McNabb is not a t3 qb. He's still a gamer with a good TE. He'll approach 4k yds and 25tds or so.

I don't believe he's ever had problems with DUIs before, so the league might just fine him. On the other hand, he has been a bit of a disciplinary problem, so maybe they will suspend him a little. I doubt it will be anything like 4 games though.
Edit; From ESPN:
According to a league spokesman, DUIs are reviewed under the NFL's substance-abuse policy. There is no automatic suspension under any circumstances. The league isn't commenting on a possible outcome or specifics.
The first substance-abuse offense is not subject to suspension for a player, only a fine, which is half of a game check with a maximum of $50,000. It is not known if Edwards ever had a violation under the substance-abuse policy (the program is confidential) and if he would be subject to a suspension for a second offense.
The assault charge that Edwards previously had while in Cleveland is covered under the NFL's personal conduct policy and the two can't be used together against a player.
