Thanks, I figured it was a garbage deal. Well he has Jennings, Randy Moss, Santana Moss, Johnny Knox as his other WR's. What would be a fair trade for Mcnabb?

It depends on your scoring system, and positions played. With Cutler as his #1, I'm not really sure why he wants McNabb anyway.
S. Moss and Knox are worthless for fantasy, as anything more than a #3 WR, because their play is so inconsistent. So really, he only has two WR's worth trading for, Jennings and Moss. You won't get either of them straight up, unless he REALLY wants McNabb. Personally, unless you can get Randy Moss, I wouldn't go for any of his WR's. They don't add enough to your team. I would look elsewhere for a trade... You could try a package deal, if he's weak at HB and you're really strong there, and package your #3 HB and McNabb for Moss, see if he goes for it and wait for a counter offer.
Any trade I've ever pulled off ended up going back and forth like four or five times before we came to an agreement. The idea is, though, to give up as little for as much as possible. You don't ever want to take a loss to any of your strong positions, otherwise you don't gain anything. Trades are to strengthen a weak point, while maintaining strength elsewhere. And this week is the best week you'll get to move McNabb, I think. Look elsewhere if you have to, and don't be afraid of aiming too high, the worst they can do is reject the trade.

Hey guys, got a fantasy question: Here's my current roster: QB: Matt Schaub, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan WR: Roddy White, Ochocinco RB: MJD, Ray Rice, Arian Foster, CJ Spiller, Jahvid Best, Knowshon Moreno TE: Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez K: Kaeding DEF: Eagles
I feel okay about my QB situation. I'll start two out of the three based on good matchups, a strategy which worked great this week because I played Schaub and Ryan, who netted me a combined 50 or so points.
Antonio Gates is not disappointing at TE. Kaeding's doing fine, and I can't expect too much out of a defense, so I'm alright with Philadelphia.
Here are the problems: 1.) I am overloaded at RB, and very thin at WR (only two) 2.) My supposed stud RBs, MJD and Ray Rice, aren't doing shit. Meanwhile, I've benched Jahvid Best for weeks 1 and 2.
I picked up Foster off of waiver wires, and he did alright in week 2. CJ Spiller is sucking ass, and I'm trying to drop him to pick up Demaryius Thomas. Waiver hasn't gone through yet. Is there a good trade that you guys recommend? I could always trade two RBs for a very good WR or something. Should I hang on to Tony Gonzalez? All I know is that I'm not getting nearly enough points from the RB and WR positions.
|
Is that a four team league or something? Jesus, I've never seen such a stacked roster. MJD was like #3 or #4 overall, and Ray Rice was the pick right after him in most leagues. Wtf?
Your HB's will perform, though. No need to freak out there. Maybe you can get Thomas off waivers, that might help... If I were going to trade, I'd try Knowshon + Foster for a WR. Best is clearly the weapon of choice in Detroit.
On a side note about my Vick post... isn't it just like Vick fans to ignore anything people have to say about him, and instead remain steady in their ignorance? Southlight had legit reasons for liking him, and didn't even really say he was a great QB, just that he was a unique player that could have been something great, but he didn't feel he was afforded enough opportunity.
These people are like "That's too much to read," and "you sound mad more than anything... keeping up with his stats like that." Wtf kind of argument is that second one? What kind of decent football fan doesn't keep up with statistics? Ugh, you try to educate people on something and they'd rather be ignorant. How awful... sadly, this doesn't apply specifically to sports.

Maclin for McNabb is terrible. Always think of fantasy trades in terms of touches and you can never go wrong.
WR will average you, what, 4-5 per game?? McNabb gets at least 30 passing opportunities and a few runs a game. Unless you get a top 5 WR for your middle of the road QB, or unless your depth chart is like... Peyton, Schaub, Eli, you never ever do a trade like that, even if you have absolutely no use for that QB. It's a lateral move for you at best, and it only serves to improve him.
Flacco might be my pick for biggest disappointment thus far, at least for QBs. I didn't catch much yesterday, but fuck did he look like ass in week one. Overthrew at least like 5-6 balls terribly. He also shows flashes of really nice plays too (he hit Boldin on what looked like a fairly simple 15 yarder, but he just showed smooth footwork in avoiding the rush and hitting him in the hands). I really thought he'd emerage as a top 10 guy.

The worst is that I hear all these idiotic arguments all the time, and they're from the douchebags I play fantasy with, not casual fans. I can show all the stats I want in the world to support my argument, but motherfuckers will cling to whatever preconceived notion they have of a player, no matter what.

Agreed on that bottom part.
Flacco is a combine kid. I've been saying this since he came out. He has a big arm, and was blown up by the combine. He was a guy who couldn't hack it in D!, then when he went down to D2. he didn't go and destroy like he should have, and somehow emerged as a first round pick. That's absurd. He'll never be more than a middle of the pack QB with a huge arm.
|
Yeah, I do remember you having almost as much of a boner against Flacco as I do for Vick and Favre, ahah.
I really think this is a show me year for him. They have all the weapons and the line there this year. The one thing that I did notice is that he got shit calls from the o-coord several times... a couple of like third and 4 or so situations where every receiver was 15 yards downfield and they had the TE/RB in on protection. As much as he did shit decisions, who the fuck calls that??
The Giants were doing the same to Eli. And that was even worse, because it was obvious to everyone that their tackles were getting raaaaaaaaaaaaapeeeeeed by Freeny/Mathis. I haven't seen something like that in a while, jesus. Dheil lost a major step. That Giant line has gone to shit.
|
my poor giants What a disappointing game. Its not that they lost but how embarrassing it was..
|
Freeney and Mathis can do that to about anyone. I was thinking about how imba DE's are. Like, the top DE vs the top LT 1v1, the DE almost always wins. You put a guy like Freeney against Ryan Clady, or Joe Thomas, somehow Freeney wins. It's crazy, because they pay all this money for LT's, and then they STILL have to help them out, heh. Certainly, Freeney, Peppers, Allen, etc all lose from time to time, even in 1v1 situations, but it's pretty incredible how often these guys win their 1v1 match ups.
|
Hawk, ready for your 49ers to get lit up? But I am hoping Davis puts up a 70 yard / 1 TD performance. Just enough for me to win my one of my matchups and to hold the lead in another one.
|
It's not really that surprising if you think about it. The LT has to play reactive in pass defense, and it's easier to run forward than it is to backpedal while making sure you have enough balance forward.
|
Somehow my Chiefs are 2-0! Kinda crazy, but I'm not complaining. Hopefully the luck keeps up.
|
Damn, this is not looking good for my fantasy team. Already Drew Brees has 7 points. SF better give them LONG fields for the rest of the game.
SF is looking pathetic so far.
And, while I'm aware that the NFL needs advertising dollars.. is it really necessary to have a commercial after the PAT/FG (last play of the drive), then the kickoff, then another set of commercials. Wtf? Seriously, that's so goddamn annoying.
|
I'm screwed if Frank Gore scores 70 points.
|
Our scoring is such that 52 points is not that hard to come by. For reference, Vick scored 29 for me yesterday. Two players can easily get that many points, and I've seen these kinds of leads evaporate against big time players before.
That said, I actually had to mute my TV just now. I can't stand these morons going on about the fucking Heisman trophy. They act as if MNF is their time to talk about whatever current topic there is in sports, and everything else but the fucking game. No one gives a flying fuck about your opinions on current events, shut the fuck up and call the game. I wish they'd all get laryngitis. Further, I wish the people at ESPN would learn how to produce a show well, because this channel fucking blows. The only thing it's good for are casual sports fans (i.e. idiots who have no clue) to feel adequate in sports conversation.

I didn't say it was. I was just complaining about it, because it's very annoying.
SF looking solid after a rough start to the game. They're determined to make NO work for it today.

I thought the 49ers signed westbrook this offseason? Why are they only using him in retarded wildcat formations?
So dumb @@
Players are playing well after the mess up early on though, a lot closer than I would have expected

Westbrook is so injury prone I doubt they want to risk losing him. Dude has serious concussion issues.

Gore is as good, or better than Westy in every way, pretty much.
