It also means that the Raiders are the only team to ever sweep their division and not make the playoffs since the merger. A bit of a funky stat, but I thought it was amusing. Wow the Bears are using Hester on returns this week. That is really surprising to me. Knox and Manning aren't exactly scrubs and it is just so easy to get hurt on a return with all those players running full force at each other.

Al Davis is so stupid. Cable is turning that team around, and he wants to get rid of him. How about you get the guy a talented QB that isn't a fat, lazy piece of shit? I realize that Campbell isn't fat and lazy, but he isn't talented either. If that team could regularly complete passes, it'd be a playoff contender. They're a really good WR and QB away from being a dominant team, imo. Thankfully, for all the Broncos fans, Davis is probably the worst owner in the league, and will fire a guy that's making incredibly positive change for his franchise.

Edit @ Seeker: Green Bay has a head-to-head win against New York. I don't know what the tiebreak over Tampa is though. They have the same conference record. Points scored maybe?

It's the first time both Superbowl teams made it back to the playoffs the next season, in a long while. It could also be the first time a division winner with a losing record goes into the playoffs with the current format. That said, I'm cheering for the Seahawks for the lulz.

What he has done in two seasons with one of the worst teams of the decade is just short of miraculous. They aren't even a greatly talented team, due to eight years of abysmal drafting, maybe more years. The team has been an absolute joke since the 2002 season. I'm half hoping he does get a job with some decent management and some talent on his team, somewhere like Tennessee, Houston, or the Giants. That would be fun to watch, plus egg on Davis' face is always fun. On January 03 2011 09:49 Seeker wrote: Can someone explain this to me please? Green Bay's wins have been over opponents with the most combined wins, so they advance.

It must be on strength of scheduling, but I thought it went on common opponents first. In which case, TB beat Washington, while Washington beat GB, thus TB>GB in standings if it went common opponents first. I guess GB 2-0 v Det, and TB<Det too, though, so who knows. I'd like to see the official tie breakers thing. ESPN probably has it, or nfl.com, but I'm not going to look it up.

(Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.) Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. Strength of victory. Strength of schedule. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. Best net points in conference games. Best net points in all games. Best net touchdowns in all games. Coin toss Green Bay beat New York. Green Bay was 1-1 against Detroit, while Tampa was 0-1. Green Bay was 0-1 against Atlanta, while Tampa was 0-2. Tampa beat Washington, Green Bay lost to Washington. Both beat San Francisco. Idk which four you'd choose. It says on ESPN that Green Bay wins out by strength of victory, which is .475. New York's is .396, and Tampa's is .342, the lowest in the NFL.
