What he has done in two seasons with one of the worst teams of the decade is just short of miraculous. They aren't even a greatly talented team, due to eight years of abysmal drafting, maybe more years. The team has been an absolute joke since the 2002 season. I'm half hoping he does get a job with some decent management and some talent on his team,
I heard during the Steelers game from one of the commentators that he's going to be Offensive Coordinator for the Dolphins.

Three or More Clubs (Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.) 1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the three Wild-Card participants. 2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.) 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. 4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. 5. Strength of victory. 6. Strength of schedule. 7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. 8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. 9. Best net points in conference games. 10. Best net points in all games. 11. Best net touchdowns in all games. 12. Coin toss.
When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2, and repeated a third time, if necessary, to identify the third Wild Card. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.
I don't know how many rules it took to break the tie, but Tampa has pretty shitty strength of victory and miserable strength of schedule. Common games is something I'm too lazy to look up, but they all had the same conference record, and no one swept so it must have gone to at least the 4th tie breaker.
EDIT:
Damn beaten to it, and by a better researched post even.

Well, that's what happens when you suck. You get to play a cupcake schedule the next year.
Edit: That win against the Saints today was their only win against a winning team.

Something I noticed: Quarterbacks tend to lick their fingers before throwing the ball. I'm guessing that it strengthens their grip on the ball. That's all good and all, but do they do not put in to consideration that that ball is absolutely filthy? That ball has been touched by dozens of players, had contact with the ground, and the quarterback is basically touching all that, then licking his contaminated finger. WTF? Don't they care about bacteria/germs/infections?
Edit : Also, I bet the football tastes horrible...

damn, i forgot that today was the last match -.-

Jorge Posada pees on his hands. Professional sports players are just gross sometimes.

They did a funny piece about that on NFL Countdown once. I don't really remember the details that well. But they had Jake Delhomme talk about it and Steve Smith was basically like "Man, that shit is gross"

$16M>A cold. The balls get changed probably 50 times a game anyway. And yeah, the dampness on the fingers gives a slightly better grip, and allows them to throw tighter spirals as a result.
ESPN actually brought that up to Drew Brees once, though. He had never really thought about it, he said, and hoped he didn't catch anything as a result.

NOOO FUCK I hate Fox. Why do they have to cast the Super Bowl?
Edit @ JohnWayne: I got that from NFL.com. I think that it's just you who can't access the site.

Fox is so much better than CBS though. All CBS does is tell us about their upcoming, shitty shows, the whole game. It's so annoying. I'd prefer NBC though. I love Collinsworth + Davis.
|
I like CBS's casters more. But yeah, that is pretty annoying how they constantly plug their shows.
I wouldn't mind seeing the MNF crew do a playoff game or two.
|
I hope KC wins just so we can see a Cassel-NE matchup. Just to see Cassel get destroyed. Eh SL? ;]
|
Dude, you have to be kidding... you want the worst crew in football to broadcast games? I wish Jaws would get permanent laryngitis or something. And the constant ass-kissing from Gruden.. ugh. Then you have that idiot Tirico too. They're SO bad. I can't believe you just said that.
|
I really just wanted to see what people thought of them, without actually asking lol
Why does KC host the 1 pm game on Sunday? Shouldn't Philly, since KC is in a later time zone?
|
Please God, just don't ket the Thursday Night guys ever call a game again.

The strange thing to me is that, despite being a horrible commentating crew, they have the best analysts of all the networks for post-game coverage.
Ferrose, they're only an hour apart, and no one gives a shit about the KC game other than KC fans. Teams with bigger fan bases typically get the prime-time spots for playoffs.

This game is pretty pathetic, two decent drives for a td and a field goal by the 'hawks and a field goal off a turnover for the rams.
