You mean a T-34, just to clarify. T34 is a US Premium T8 heavy.
And of course you can win against other T5s. The problem is, you need to learn where to shoot, and that comes only via experience.
Maybe i'll join you some day with a T-34 and figure it out again. ^^

Just got my hetzer. Also have my churchill mark 1 . The hetzer is a joy to drive but the chuch is a brick with a gun. I attually had more fun driving the mitilda with the last upgraded gun. Im now working on my own t - 34 looking for people to play with im on euwest. Same name as here

Nothging better as a player telling you to just aim for the weakspots. My friend does all the time. I have a 80% crew god damnit. I am happy if i hit the tank from a distance of 100m. THe point is, against KV-1 and Churchill I can't win a brawl. Against the usual mediums, the T-34 seems to have good chances. Against TDs, you usually loose the brawls cause you get one shot ;/

with no armor fast tanks the goal is to not to get shot. you can get to great positions fast and snipe from far, flank the enemy, wait for the enemy to shoot at your mate then engage it.

Yeah, against heavies you can't. You will never win against these two in a normal fight. Even if you somehow manage to start the fight in their backs. That's how it is though. You're not supposed to, in this case. Against TDs, well.. You know that their biggest problem is the lack of a turret, if you know the shooting angles of their guns (depends on the TD) you can troll them pretty easy with shooting down their tracks, or hugging their sides.
Also, i didn't tell you to aim for weakspots, your gun is too weak/inaccurate to do something against KVs, even if you aim for weakspots. I didn't know that you complain about not being able to brawl against a tank that weighs easily twice as much as your tank - you know, "T5" can mean alot of tanks.
Edit: also, there's not that much TDs on T4-5 that can onehit a T-34. If you have a derp-TD, just wait for it to shoot and rush it after that. As a medium, you're supposed to hide behind heavies in open spaces. Later on, the gap becomes smaller and you can actually brawl with certain heavies - but you're not there yet.

Okay, good advice, thanks. Yesterday, i met my first AT-2. Yay :D The game is still fun and i don't want to cry too much. I am less bitter as i sound :D Playing LoL, SC2 and now WoT makes you a bit whiny though :D I've got a ventilation system and the thing for faster aiming installed now, anything else i definetely need? Guess the optics are the best bet, but i guess that slot is gonna stay open until i understand a bit more.

I can only speak for heavies, in general you want a rammer, and a gunlaying drive. The rammer is almost mandatory i'd say, the gunlaying drive is not - that one depends on the tank you're playing. German meds for example are better off with a gunlaying drive, whereas US meds are better off with a vertical stabilzer. Ventilations are nice to have, although later on you may want to consider a wet ammo rack in your tree (if you go further towards T-44 etc).
In general, there's no real "mandatory" equipment except the rammer. And premium, if you spend so much money on equipment on a tank that you'll get rid off pretty fast.
Edit: might be wrong though on the vertical stab for US meds, they nerfed their "while driving accuracy" pretty badly. They were mandatory when i played on a daily basis, on the pershing for example. Since they mixed up the trees, no idea if the "playstyle" is still the same. For the germans it was the same up to the Panther II when it was top tier, then the E-50 - but i don't know about the E-50M, since that didn't exist at that point.

And its fucking awesome. Konisch + premium ammo (which is available for credits now as it seems) = incredible amount of penetration/damage.
8,8cm is awesome too, but not as much. ^^
Edit: not to mention that if you're top tier tank, you're near to invulnerable if you play your cards right.

Guess most people don't play that way anymore, considering it's the first time this happened to me.

No, to my knowledge, only betaplayers and shortly after, because they removed tracers from the game completely for a long time - so there was no way new people could get used to it.

Best F2P i have ever played.
|
I played this game a long time ago, and while it is very well made, interesting, and certainly worth playing, the free MMO model of having to buy in game items and accumulate experience levels and 'gold' over many months and hundreds of hours to get to the competitive level wrecks the game for me.
Experiential based knowledge and physical skill is what i appreciate, not hours played or points purchased...

There is no need to buy certain items with gold. All "money" does is speeding up the progress of "stuff". May it be leveling or gold ammo.
Also, T5-T6 is as competetive as T10. As i said earlier, ESL even has leagues for that level.

How people can play this boring game?

On May 11 2013 03:48 dafnay wrote: How people can play this boring game?
Easy, you need to doubleclick the shortcut, put in your password and after that, you chose your tank. If it's repaired and armed, you basically just need to click "Battle", the red big button on top, and the matchmaking does the rest for you.
Easy, right? Glad i could help.

You need to download and install the client first though.
|
Yeah right, i assumed that this would be a given, mea culpa. Of course, you have to download and install the client first. And patch it. Also you need to create an account on their webpage, with which you log in to the game.
