Yeah agreed, I follow Bundesliga second to the Premier League. As good as Barcelona and Real Madrid are, they are pretty much the only two teams in the league. Italian football is for sure falling down.

everytime i watch Bundesliga, it seems to always been an open attacking game with classy goals. definitely think bundesliga > la liga but probably not EPL
|
bundesliga you will see always amazing games, the highest number of goals per game out of all the leagues.

People always talk about Arsenal as if they are trying to become like Barca in style and whatever, but even though I think Barca are the stronger side, I find Arsenal's style much more entertaining to watch and I would hate to see them go the Barcalona route.

Arsenal's style is definitely similar to Barcelona's, but I feel as if the Premier League adds to the team a more physical and rapid aspect to beautiful passing, and over the years it finally sunk in and blossomed into this years' Gunners. Also, it's important to note that Arsenal are one of the few teams in the EPL that lack a strong CB duo (or overall backline for any case). That have definitely haunted them in the past.

barcelona is so amazing when they attack, it's just really sad that they decide to spend the majority of games passing the ball around the midfield.
I mean, as a general gameplan it works brilliantly, other teams become annoyed and frustrated because they're not allowed to handle the ball, eventually their amazing skill in passing the ball in tiny areas creates some opening (in particular because other teams become frustrated by not having the ball and take slightly bigger risks trying to claim it) which they manage to take advantage of.. and I can't really fault them for playing to win, but in terms of entertainment arsenal is way ahead imo, even if less skilled.

Wow. What a game. Fantastic performance by the Gunners.

they had a 19 and 20 year old that started, Arsenal has some promising young talent!

This is a completely ridiculous claim. Premier EPL,SPL and Calcio will utterly demolish any german team with the exception of Bayern Munich. Spain has a lot of great teams such as Atletico, Valencia, Villareal. Germany has only Bayern Munich, Leverkusen, Schalke and on a lesser degree Werder Bremen. The rest of german teams are just horrendous.

I really disagree with you, Ganjamaster. A lot of german teams are on par with spanish teams and Italy has really just Inter and AC, nothing else. All othere teams there are worse then german top 6. The only league that is really ahead is PL. Just watch the results of the last 5 years. Current standings show that bundelisga will make second place in 11/12.

The standings have you tied with Italy at best, and historically speaking italian teams have won significantly more european championships than german teams.

Only this much. They played quite bad game in the first half, frequently losing posession in front of their own goal. Both teams were very nervous, but Barcelona wrapped it up faster, abusing Clichy's mistake while making offside trap. Szczęsny got unlucky this time and it was 0-1.
In the second half, it was Koscielny who completely took care of Messi. Also, coach Guardiola had little idea what to do to improve team's play, since both Iniesta and Xavi were playing sub-par to their standards and Dani Alves was tied down to defence against Nasri's dribbles.
That being said, it was Victor Valdes who gave Arsenal hope of coming back.
Gerard 'Shakira' Pique helped Gunners too.
Barca is still favourite to advance, but I don't get why they kept Valdes and sold Rafa Marquez.

Rafa Marquez is old, if they could get some money for him then it was an obvious sale. Agree with Valdez, but he is a household name and it would not go down well with the fans if they just got rid of him.

For the comparison, Carles Puyol approaches 33 and still is backbone of the team. Alessandro Nesta will turn 35 in March and does well in Milan (albeit not necessarily in Champions League).
Rafa was very good as a defensive midfielder as well, shame that they got rid of him (while Keita kinda failed on Emirates Stadium). Valdes... Meh, you're right, fanboys can be really blind.

Why don't you take a look at UEFA's own coefficient ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient As soon as the 2006/7 season drops out of the rating, there is a good chance Bundesliga overtakes Liga BBVA and takes second place, Italy is clearly in 4th place right now.

Nesta is an exceptional defender and will go down in history as one of the best defenders in the last 20 years. His track record is absolutely ridiculous, but no need to get into that.
Puyol is another staple of Barcelona (raised in the youth teams) and has also been very good although he is on the decline. He is still very good, but the reason they dont sell him or bench him its because for the time being he is in good form, is the captain and heart of the team and is loved by the fans.
You CANNOT sell a player who is older than 32 for decent returns except in exceptional cases. Marquez had plenty of replacements that are better o as good as he was. Additionally he was injured for a long time. A good offer came in and they unloaded him, nothing wrong with that.
@Meneander
The UEFA coefficient is garbage and is not really representative of anything. The best leagues are the ones who spend the most money on players because the talent goes to where the better contracts are. In this respect, England and Spain pay significantly better contracts than Germany pays, and that is about it.
