What do you mean? He asked, I answered. Truthfully and accurately.
Well, not quite, they did add one (?) new Rift guardian that even has a new model.

The seasonal content is indeed lacking, and something I wish they would put more effort into but I still have fun overall.
I play mostly solo or with 2 player (my wife) and she is going Barbarian this season. What class do you guys feel would best compliment this? I was thinking something that could clear RG quickly as Barb AOE is still strong. I've been leaning towards DH because I've played that class the least of all the other classes.
We're 'semi competitive' meaning we just really want to get on the leaderboards and progress as we can. We have no delusion of being top 10 or even top 100. We didn't do the 2 man ladder this season but we both individually placed at like 620 and 631 on our respective solo ladders (monk/crusader). This season we'd like to try for the 2 man ladder.
edit; Oh and we only play HC, if that influences anything.

I envy you.

if i read right physical dh is still going to be top dps against RG but you probably need a complimentary class for cc and/or mob clearing

the patch is set to coincide with the new season, it basically is the new seasonal content. they release it early to fix any last minute bugs in nonseasons, but the intent is to patch with seasons. also, the season only legendaries are tied to the new sets/builds (deadman's, little man's finger, ranslor's folly, barb braces (now defunct, but will likely come back)).
d3 is a different game this week than it was last because of the third season.
crms - monk will probably compliment barb best since the new barb is just run. dh is squishy and forces barb to clean up everything, which it doesnt want to do.

I like how they add new affixes to mobs, new mob types, random bosses or new zone types (corrupted). It adds a lot of more replayability between the seasons. The d3 seasons are bit odd as generally speaking the most important function of a season reset in most ARPGs are economic resets, so for a game with no economy, i feel they should beef up the other possible features of a new season. I don't mean to debate all this stuff again though. D3 is clearly a nice enough game nowadays that I sink hundreds of hours every season but I still see a lot of room to grow.
Thanks for the suggestions on class, I'd prefer not to Monk, only because I played monk (for the first time) in season 2. Monk was a lot of fun but I'd prefer to try something fresh! I can see how barb/monk could work well though with the 2.2 changes. Seizure monk (as reddit calls it) seems to do some crazy damage and should be able to keep up with movement speed of barbs.

pet doctor might be able to keep up as well. barb isnt really a group character though, sadly.

What he said isn't necessarily a negative thing. It's just fact. There is not a ton of new content between seasons / patches and it's very easy to see why people don't care. And I say this as someone that DOES pick the game back up every month or two and get hopelessly addicted for week(s) at a time. It's enough to satisfy the people that already like the game and will keep coming back to it anyway, and not enough to change the minds of people that find it boring.
Looking forward to S3 and coming back to my one true love, the wizard. Been fooling around with other classes for the past two since there was nothing but Firebird's available really, but I'm excited for some variety this time around hopefully.

Yeah, not sure why he gets so defensive about it.
I'm a fellow grinder, I've been farming four characters to T6 level and I'm Paragon 100 on SC and 350 on HC.
That doesn't change the fact that Blizzard aren't adding any real content to D3 betwixt the expansions.

they add content to the game, you just don't like it. they revamped the sets and builds people use and added quite a few legendaries, and you act like its just tweaking the min/max. the game wont be played the same as it was last week, but thats apparently not new "content."

there are legitimate criticisms with the game and you can argue that what they do is not enough (a stupid opinion in and of itself since they dont charge for patches, but anyways), but saying there is no new content is idiotic.

ive only ever gotten 1 cow rift from all my time in d3, like 2000 rifts?
|
cow rift has been there since RoS launched. only seen it once at a clan invite

Funny timing...it was my first rift post patch I believe. Just an odd coincidence I guess.

Looks like I'll be going monk tomorrow. I played every non-monk class last season and they are just not as fun. Although the new wizard stuff looks interesting that I might give it a shot at some point.

gabynator is doing wiz build right now. gr 58s.

Are there any strong builds that are super lazy to play with lag like a minion master? I know there is/was a pet commander build for crusader although you needed a lot of items.
