So let me understand this...
they do damage only with furnace, rimeheart and exploding palm. They cant kill elites with rimeheart, but they can take them down to lower HP with furnace, and then finish them off with exploding palm.
Did I get that right?

this HP stacking GR system seems really bad for the game. it's the old reduce everything in the game to 3 items problem again. i'm not sure i'll even play it at its present state. they need to abandon the endless tower idea if they can't make it more than "how many 0's can we add"

so is the game worth playing right now or just wait for patch? I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to try and find more gear on my characters that won't be played with next update for ladders etc. Or am I completely wrong?

Are you saying that it is not worth it to play your char now, because you will only play ladder after patch, and not use your current char? Can't you make the same argument to not play ladder at all, as the ladder will always reset at some point?

Well once ladder is released, I'm likely to only play ladder if my d2/PoE experience holds true. I'm not sure it's worth putting anymore time into my current characters that are going to be sidelined for ladder. Though I'm really not that educated on what exactly ladder will be in d3, do we use our current characters for season 1? Or, do we make fresh lv1s and start the ladder grind? And to your point, yes, usually near the end of seasons if I didn't have any purposeful goal or desire to accomplish anything, the last week or so of ladder I would relax and wait for the next season. Maybe that's weird, I dunno!
