Yeah that's what I'm afraid of is finding too much too fast with the buff. With multiple characters that could do t4-6 with ease already before this week I though it was a pretty good pace, maybe just a little bit too hard to find that one specific weapon to do the build you want but that's it. With the buff staying I'll definitely be playing more hardcore since my main classes on softcore are only lacking a few possible upgrades. I guess while the buff is still active it's time to farm act 1 normals for a dex rorg and get a ton of rift keystone fragments while it's still buffed. | ||

Fire is easier to gear for than lightning(no owe requirements, higher damage with generator less ltk). Lightning has a more involved play style though with mythic rhythm snapshotting and good utility. Sucks that lightning ltk has a hitbox that's smaller than the already pathetic range so you can miss enemies standing right in front of you. Can't proc hov without using lightning ltk either, otherwise I'd use bells. Lightning requires soh and odyn son for the procs damage to really even come close to fire ltk damage. Also in bis gear you can get out dpsd by a Garg or tmf zombie dog. If you can live with all that, then maybe DPs monk is for you. Other builds are foe sss builds, I have a 2700+/49% one, and while its fun to nuke for upwards of 3-400m, its not a very practical build. | ||

Fire has: GNK(huge, fire scaling 300-400% aoe+300-400% again on single target on LTK), sankis, magefist, cinder, and cinder let's you infinitely LTK in epiphany with the right gear. Lightning monk isn't bad. It's just worse than fire atm. You get Haunt of Vaxo(clones cast EP and CS, which is fucking amazing), Andariel's is better than EoTS because lightning scales linearly with attack speed, and makes the build a lot more fluid, and you bring quite a bit of utility with stuns. It's harder to gear because you need rare weaps(SoH#1, OS#2, WKL/TF#3). IIRC GNK still beats both of them on single target even with lightning spec though. Also lightning LTK has a range minimally larger than the hitbox, which is miniscule, so you can miss standing next to a target, and it's pretty much impossible to hit a moving target. In BiS gear it gets pretty close though, probably within 10-20% of fire. And sadly, even in BiS gear, WD garg's and TMF dogs can significantly outdps monks, irrespective of spec(~2-3x dps). | ||
