Why would anyone invest before RoS? Ladder is coming, you know?! yeah, i dont understand why people are preparing for RoS. especially paragon experience. once ladder hits and everyone plays ladder, paragon experience, gold, gear, etc. will be irrelevant.
i started collecting reduced level equipment for my new crusader and then realized that it will be useless because i will be playing ladder.
i guess if you dont care about ladder, it is fine.

So I just killed Nekarat the Keywarden on MP 10 and didn't get the plan. Is MP 10 only guaranteeing keys from the other 3 wardens or how can this be (did they change something?)?

MP10 is a guarantee so the reason most probable is that you didn't have 5 stacks of NV, it's annoying to get in act 4.

Thx dude, I didn't know you had to have NV stacks for that.

Thought this list from a thread on bnet forum pretty much nailed it (except that I think BoA is a good thing) and I'll give it a thumbs up here since I can't post there. I really miss the open world pvp/griefing in D2 (both initiating and receiving).
•custom games - let us play how we want •allow players to search for custom games and filter •open trading - BoA? Seriously??? •open-world PvP - game creator can enable/disable it •bosses actually drop loot •ladder •open social platform with characters on the bottom •COW LEVEL •loot tables - Andy has greater chance for rings, Countess for runes, etc. •permanent character choices - skills, stat points •99.9% of rare items should NOT be viable compared to Legendaries •Match the drop rate to D2

Its just copying the concepts of Diablo 2 to Diablo 3. This clash of ideologies will never end, im so tired of the discussion. Both sides have good points, I for one will miss the trading aspect of Diablo. Maybe because Im an economist.
|
Trading was fun, and the auction house has been fascinating to me, but it's dominating the game - both in terms of how play progresses, and in terms of time spent in game (for me).
I don't like the list screamingpalm pasted though, because it is exactly D2 features. I think some of the concepts might be good to implement, but I don't really want the same features copied into the D3 interface. It would be nice to encourage group/multiplayer play though. Playing with others was like herding cats at times, but generally was more fun.
|
That's a fair point, I guess I just feel like some of those points are core features of the series that are missing now. I don't necessarily think D3 needs a cow level, for example, but I did like things like loot tables from D2 and boss drops etc. Having to look to rares and elites for drops was good in theory, but I feel like boss runs were better in practice, not sure.
|
It's the see-saw of players who during development said, they didn't like x-y-z about D2, please change/improve it in D3 then the following backlash of people saying, why did you change that? Make it like D2 again!
I honestly don't remember if getting away from farming bosses was one of those concerns, but I think some opaqueness about the loot tables (like Farming Meph > Baal in some cases) was a concern.
Not being locked into your skill tree *was* a concern and so was Legendaries making everyone's gear seem cookie cutter, thereby making rares irrelevant was one though. But it turns out that early feedback was dead wrong on Legendaries (or you can blame their implementation of that feedback / see patch 1.0.4), but they're still trying to balance the feedback of people wanting rares to matter it looks (hence BoA, so there's an aftermarket for rares I guess?).
|
i dont actually like it when legendaries or rws are dominating every slot. top end rares should at least be competitive with top end legends on some few slots...
i personally also dont actually like having stats and skills spent permanently. however, the current state of d2 is perfect in that regard: you can do up to 3 respecs for free, after that you can do as many as you want but have to farm up or pay for some ingredients each time, so that messing around with skills/stats is possible, but not too easy.
being able to allocate stats by oneself will actually have a little return by paragon 2.0
one of the main features in which d2 and d3 differ, but which isnt talked about a lot, is the divide between melee and casters. in d2, melee chars took their damage off their weapon dps, much like it currently is in d3. casters, on the other hand, increased their damage by +skill items and fcr. they didnt have to care about the dam on the weapons, melee chars didnt have to care too much about +skills or fcr on their items. thus, building a melee and a caster char felt completely different and the items these two classes of chars required didnt overlap as much as in d3. (ofc melee in d2 was underpowered for pvm because of a lack of good aoe spells, but that could easily be fixed.)
another thing that really differs between d2 and d3 is the general game speed. in d2, chars walk, run, attack, cast and teleport much quicker than in d3. and there are not 1001 skills with cooldowns. even though d2 is so extremely old and clunky, the gameplay still feels much more satisfactory... which actually is really really apprehensive if you think about it.

Also, where can I read about this suff? Before level 60 for weapon damage it is almost always best to just look in your character sheet at the damage per second and choose the weapon that gives a higher number.

From the inventory>details menu all I can see is the damage increase from dex, where can I see the dps?
|
It already accounts for the +dex in the quickview comparison to what you curretly have equipped.

mouse over weapon in inventory. green text = better, red text = worse.
