Games are so good. Everybody, just take a moment and thank this universe for internet.
Looking for baal was that Duriel the act 2 boss? That boss was so freaking hard everytime you got to it and didnt get boosted, hardest boss in the game tbh.

He was hard but he was easily exploited since he was purely melee

Oh God. My planning my life around the potential release of the D3 beta. I must not miss it!

And the fact that the place for the bossfight was so small - made it a true micro battle for low defense/stam sorceress like me.

I've never found him very hard since his health doesn't recharge when you tp back to town, the real challenge was beating him single player on hc on my /players 8 barb runthrough.

It's actually hella easy as Wind/Bear druid. I specced fully into hurricane and tornadao (with some points in the armor and the other one to have better dps), along with a bear that just had a bunch of life and defense (1 point in bear, the rest in both wolf skills), and i pwned duriel on Hell. I actually thought getting to Duriel was WAY harder than actually fighting her. Too many fucking skeletons and Blood Lords in the tomb.
But yeah, with that druid build, its hella easy to play because your bear can tank almost anything, and i have enough mana that recasting my bear isn't a big deal. Combined with just 1 level in Oak Sage, my bear has 4k health, and more defense than I can imagine. He rarely dies, and if he does its to A LOT of elemental damage, or it's a boss and/or miniboss fight.

I'm pretty sure we're talking about Duriel on normal 1st playthrough SP, he's no trouble later on but that first time killing him with a sorc/squishy char is an absolute nightmare....you end up TPing ALOT because you can't run from him with the chill aura and charge+tiny room.

I see your 'Looking for Baal?' and raise you a "My brothas have ESCAPED you, BWaaaaHAHAahahaHA!" -- Mephisto

I'm starting to get pumped Diablo 3 now...

"Not even DEATH can save you from me"
Anyone wonder if Diablo actually meant HIS death instead of the player's?
|
"My brothers will not have died in vain!"
"Die, maggot!"
"Your blood will boil."
"Join my army of the dead."

Duriel was damn near impossible for me, played a sorceress like every time. And my poor mercenary must have needed revived 10 times or so.

Stand so that mercenary was tanking the damage and use my stocked up rejuv pots to keep him alive, making sure to use thawing potions so his aura wouldn't hurt us too bad, took 3 trips but the combined damage from merc and I was enough in the end although the poor guy died all 3 times.

Malice/Steel RW make Duriel pretty easy, coupled with a +block shield. If you're lucky enough to get cleglaw's glove by then its even easier.
As for sorceress all they need is static field to wither him down to nothing.

Pretty sure he means your Death because the hero's are mortals. When they die and go to hell, their ass is of the devil (Diablo).

I NEED D3 in my life.............where art thou, beta?

Oh God, all this talk about Duriel made me want to play D2 again :-) I remember the first time I've encountered him - after beating EZ mode boss known as Andariel, I thought "how hard can this next boss be ... HOLY SHIT!"
I'm not really sure if D3 will be able to capture those moments, I guess I'm kind of anxious :-(
