it doesn't really matter, and u can gear ur barb to wreck act 1 with a couple hundred thousand
the blue shield is better 260 armor and way more resist all, plus even if the block chance is lower it blocks way more damage but u can get a 40+ resist 60+ vit/str aegis for <50k
the blue armors probably better but it's not as clear cut as the other one. the blue armor gives more survivability but the yellow one adds a bunch of damage u should be able to get a 40+ resist 60+ vit/str chest piece for <50k it'll have less armor but the stats will be a lot better

I know a lot of people in this thread are a lot more knowledgeable than me in regards to which stats are most important for armor (chance to block, resist all, etc.- but in what order), so I was hoping for some input.
I recognize that my stuff is probably trashy, but I need to make do with what I have for now.
I'm a barbarian with 23K life and 14K damage, over 200 resist all, and in the spoilers are my pairs of armors and shields for comparison. Which should I be using, and why? Hoping for some input; thanks!
with 25% block minimum and level 60 requirement for under 100k. Look for something like this chest: + Show Spoiler +
that you can fill with vit gems for under 100k. Vit is more expensive to buy on equipment so typically you will always socket vit gems.
When comparing +armor and +all resist, they're of roughly equal value if you multiply the all resist value by 10. So +298 armor is roughly equal to +30 all resist.
A successful block often negates 70-100% of the incoming damage. This makes block chance the primary attribute by which you judge a shield since block value typically goes up as you buy better shields anyway.
I'm just starting Inferno on my Barb too and I was able to get a shield that blocks 3.7k damage with 20% block with just + armor as a stat. I forget how much I payed but it was bargain around 30-50k. Nobody wanted it because it didn't have any extra stats, but I still had to really search for that deal. Searching AH for shields with max buyout 100k I see a ton of shields with 3.7k damage block you just need to find ones close to 20% block and then judge how much you want to pay, I wouldn't settle for shields 2.7 or 1.9k dmg block.

This is bad advice simply for the fact that if you're taking more damage than a 2800-3700 shield (ilvl 62) can reasonably mitigate (say, 70-100% as I noted above) then the problem wasn't with your shield to begin with, you're simply taking too much damage.

yes
kinda sounds like that's what he's doing
What i meant is that if you have 30% base crit chance, a 45% crit dam increase is a 15% base damage increase, equivalent to 15% ias. Stacking crits is the shit. When you have 30% or more base crits, 60% crit dam amus are about as good as 20% ias wise. That's why i discarded my old 15% ias 150 dex amu long ago for a 59% crit increase for a huge increase in dps AND gold (crit was still way undercosted and ias overcosted). My gloves with +8.5 crits proc +34% are about equivalent to a 25% ias gloves in term of dps.
Well, my bad for not going with the interpretation that makes you intelligent. I understand all this and I just automatically went with the reading consistent with you not understanding it, it's really stupid and arrogant and I apologize.
Is this game still worth getting? I haven't had the chance to play it at all since release, but since holidays are coming up I'm trying my best to gather up $80 to buy it, but recently it's been receiving lots of negativity... Any suggestions? I don't wanna waste $80 on something that I'm not going to have a good time playing

If you have to ask probably not. Action RPGs are the kind of game you either enjoy or you don't...There isn't some middle ground where you play through the game once and think you got your moneys worth in my opinion.
