Sometimes its worth to cash out 5-6k gold for 1 good rare (like i got amu with 44dex + gem socket + vita on DH lvl 24, to bad my DH died on hc) Most importantly if you are playing SC you can go max offensive atribute (the one that gives u +dmg) and buy highest dps weapon possible you will ride through normal with aoe. If you want to play this game with "ease" at the beginning you either need to be super lucky with crafting/drops or use AH. Its not like D2 when you level throught Nor/NM you can depend on what you get easily, here AH is kinda accounted for in playing. So keep selling items and buying the faster you start the easier it becomes. There are so many cash sinks when beginning (artisans, stash, AH, repairs) You should be able to survive normal with drops and especially crafting just fine.
The problem is not dying, the problem is that its not fun to have to cast LITERALLY 20+ spells to kill a single spider. I have not done any AH but I have done some crafting. Maybe I need to try a different class.

My wizard is at level 21 and ya it sucks playing him since I run out of arcane power so fast and I'm so squishy. On the other hand, my barb is 53 and I'm stuck on Hell because of terrible affix rng... yay.

wait what, i'm a wizard too, just hit lvl 30 abt to kill act3 boss, and i actually feel i'm OVERPOWERED =S, i just run into the mob with ice armour, ice nova --> meteor ---> force push, and everything just blows up or shatters = +300 extra exp for killing all.
what skills are you using?

Maybe I need to try a different class. I wasn't suggesting just surviving. I've played through normal with two different characters and I haven't had any of the problems you are describing. As above poster, if anything it's being overpowered that's been my problem. I haven't used auction house or anything but with exception of a selected few bosses I've rolled through most without much effort. It just sounds like you have either really crappy gear or are using the wrong skills because it shouldn't really be the way you are describing.

well, i played yesterday with a wizard from TL and all i needed to do was spam vortex on the monk and watch him explode everything in 3 seconds.. Wizard cant be that bad. In diablo games, its usually an item problem when you are having trouble.

servers down until 7am This game really makes leveling a new class a lot of fun. I'm on my third character going through normal and every time has felt different.

So people have been grinding through Inferno for ~2 days and only half of it was beaten just now? So maybe ~2-4 more days until the game gets fully beaten? That's somewhat pleasantly surprising to hear- I thought Inferno would have been fully completed within 2-3 days of it being started.

Wow 2GD and co are still streaming- http://www.twitch.tv/thegdstudio They've been streaming almost non-stop since release, every time I'm online they're streaming lol, crazy guys. I don't know why they're not featured on TL. They're on inferno now and it looks quite hard, it's good that the game is actually a challenge at max level. I was worried that it'll be very short...

Hi Guys, Sorry for the dumb question. Today I went to the gameshop to buy diablo for a friend of mine who has a birthday. Unfortunatelly, it was sold out, so I looked to buy it online and saw that blizzard has this option to buy it from there site, however, it wants registrations etc. and I would prefer to do this with my friend's account. My question is after I do this, will I be able to download and play the game immediately? or do I wait days? weeks? to have it? I am a bit old school, the one who goes to the shop to buy a hard copy and I have no idea how these new tricks work. Since I dont want to go beyond the registration process for the moment I hope that someone will be able to answer me, so I can decide what to do Thanks in advance
p.s. whats the price actually? Europe

You can instantly download the game once you buy it. Your friend can even download it right now if he logs onto your account.

I wonder what happens to the effectiveness of monk heals later on in the game. Currently act 2 nm and still seems as effective as before (though i have to use it more often than before)

i started with 4000 worth of gold as capital.4 hours of working the market i have turned that 4k Into 21k gold with Another 24k gold pending the sale of items.
i think i might spend it all and just power through the difficultys and work with a larger capital later....
but i dont want to miss out on this crazy unstable market atm!!!! what's making you money? Are you just buying low/selling high or what?
gems gems gems gems gems gems
for about an hour i controlled the market of chipped and flawed gems of each type. essentially buying low, selling higher.
shortly after my post i dabbled into gems up to the square level. made another 30k profit.
all that yummy money spent on my monk, though imo the amount of time i spent getting 4k initial equity into about 70-80 ish k i could have made that money grinding through the game.
though with a larger initial capital investment the gains would be much much greater.
THOUGH through my time with the auction house im actually disgusted at how badly its designed. for something that this game highly relies upon, the amount of search parameters there is is pathetic. i personally have 4 good auctions waiting to be sold (good deals too *wink wink*) but they have sunk to the depths of the auction house and without price parameters for people to search for no on is gonna find them.
shit search parameters + 2day forced auction time is pathetic + no way to contact the auctioneer directly + shit chat chennels to circumvent the system = annoying pooo.
