The game's not bad, it's well made. It's just not fun, unfortunately. I think it's due to the fact that it is the 2010s, and computer games have improved so much over the years D3 just doesn't appeal anymore. There was no competition back in the 90s which is why D1 and D2 were successful.
I have been saying this in my blog - play Titan Quest (it's probably like $10 on Steam) and if you don't like it, you won't like D3.

lol, that's weird.. I've constantly been going "did I have more fun with Titan Quest? I think I did" when playing D3.. I think I might've jumped back over to D3 side of the fence now, though. But it does mean that Grim Dawn is very anticipated by my as well - it seems like a much cooler game in a lot of ways
Torchlight is also very fun

Just finished normal level 33
Does anyone understand how to get to level 5 blacksmith?
|
It may just be me but I feel insanely underpowered. Generally speaking, the point/click/adventure genre of games is at its best when 90% of the game is purely atmospheric punctuated with moments of extreme danger. Instead I find myself kiting normal mobs for ages. It takes my wizard SO many casts to kill things (and I do every dungeon and explore everywhere so if anything I should be over leveled). Maybe I am just super unlucky with gear...

socket your stuff with +Int or +Damage gems
have you been using any kind of weapon that has a higher DPS # than your current one? using a class specific equip is nice but its a lot more important imo to just choose the higher DPS weapon
equip stuff that has the +damage modifer

Does anyone understand how to get to level 5 blacksmith? You need pages of blacksmithing. They drop in nightmare. Or you can buy at auction house.

go into AH and start sniping good gear. Sometimes its worth to cash out 5-6k gold for 1 good rare (like i got amu with 44dex + gem socket + vita on DH lvl 24, to bad my DH died on hc) Most importantly if you are playing SC you can go max offensive atribute (the one that gives u +dmg) and buy highest dps weapon possible you will ride through normal with aoe.
If you want to play this game with "ease" at the beginning you either need to be super lucky with crafting/drops or use AH. Its not like D2 when you level throught Nor/NM you can depend on what you get easily, here AH is kinda accounted for in playing. So keep selling items and buying the faster you start the easier it becomes. There are so many cash sinks when beginning (artisans, stash, AH, repairs)

don't think the 2GD team are going to be finishing Act 2 Inferno anytime soon
the small area makes it really difficult to pull off the rez cheese

the small area makes it really difficult to pull off the rez cheese They are very undergeared so having 2 melee in your party is a big disadvantage. Method beat ACT 2 like few hours ago, they got 3 ranged so its much easier. Under geared Monk and Barb can't nothing/

I'm level 43 with 796 int, 388 vit and 709 DMG, but anything I do, I get wrecked quickly while my friend is a wizard and just spams meteors to amass so many kills on his own.
I can't seem to get past Act 4 in the Tower of the Damned. Everyone teleports on me and just wrecks me so fast while my dogs and giant try to keep up. I've tried every combo in the book and I either don't really have the mana to sustain attack long enough to kill or I simply don't kill fast enough.
Suggestions? I've tried everything I can think of. I use Templar to heal tank, but they just go around and kill me. You won't be able to herp derp your way through the game, it isn't made to be beatable straight through to the end of inferno without stopping. Some with better drops or nice groups will be able to go for longer, but if you're unlucky you're going to have to backtrack and grind. You sound like you just plain need to gear up. I'm lvl 37 with 1000dps. Check the auction house for stuff you'd like, and maybe go back to act 3 content (maybe act 2) and just kill stuff.
I know you can't just breeze your way through a harder difficulty, that isn't what I'm saying at all.
Even at level 51, I am still having trouble convincingly defeating monsters in Act III, tower of the damned and find myself dying a lot.
1789 DMG 996 intel 496 Vitality
I'd still like a comprehensible build that might help orient how to better output damage with him? All the abilties that seem worthwhile like Vampric firebats require me to be close, where I die often. My pets don't really do any good tanking or distraction and so I often find myself just dying quickly if it isn't Act 1.

Im not saying you cant but if you want to go into full dps fast clearance method you need to boost your surviveability with better gear. Also i found crafting pre-rare quality bad, its better to cash 2k for better substitute than roll 600gold-1k crafts 4 times.
I died few times because i was suprised by new things i didnt mentally prepare for (like act2 boss or first pulling rare pack). Some people will clear it with ease some people will have problems.
Also followers while being helpful are bad compared to even 1 other person playing, full set of skills and aoe dmg vs +5/10? dmg on monsters is easily making groups > solo for HC imho.

OK so i didn't have too much time to play d3 Seriously today sooooo i decided to aLt tab and stuff and work with the market.
i started with 4000 worth of gold as capital.4 hours of working the market i have turned that 4k Into 21k gold with Another 24k gold pending the sale of items.
i think i might spend it all and just power through the difficultys and work with a larger capital later....
but i dont want to miss out on this crazy unstable market atm!!!!

Witch Doctor OP. 0 deaths in normal, about 6 potions used in total, level 31 with 5k health and dire bats hitting for 1k with soul harvest. I always just charge into the middle of a group of enemies and nuke, so ez.
Yeah normal is ez mode but seriously 5k health and still hitting with aoe for 1k is a bit ridiculous.
Will update on how this OP playstyle goes in nightmare the next chance I get to play... which is almost a week from now.

lol, some of the prices on the AH are insane, 20 million for some level 18 follower's token..

I can already tell that the crafting market is going to make me rage... clicking the refresh button over and over waiting for a huge downward spike is no fun
