Unfortunately, it seems to be the case that you can only hotkey 6 spells: 1-4, left click, and right click. You can rebind spells to any of those I think, but apparently there's a max of six. If someone else knows more, please elaborate because that's all I've been able to figure out.

I am quite sure its 6. So its also "the build" that you go for, with a set of 6 skills you build your items around it to maximize the effect of your play style. You can change skill on the fly(you can toggle the skill on/off in option) but I doubt it matter much since everytime you equip a skill there is a cool down.

Yes, in act two, you will complete a quest which gets you a Jeweler (an artisan in town) that can craft certain items and can remove gems from socketed items. That item will still have the empty sockets and you'll get to keep the original gem too. The action of removing the gem gives you the separated item and gem all brand new So socket away! Awesome, thanks! I must be just before that and I don't want to wreck an item with a crap gem, but on the other hand I don't want to wait for nothing. Thanks again, and happy adventuring!

It is six, it was a design choice by blizzard.

Likewise I'm really happy with this modification between D3 and D2. (I think D2 had a Horadric cube recipe that did something slightly similar, but it was a huge hassle and you had to sacrifice loot, not to mention constantly think twice about using earlier gems, just in case you found a better one.)

Do you ever have the opportunity to use potions faster? The cooldown rate for healing is kind of obnoxious, especially if you can't run away from a fight (getting trapped, being slower than your enemies, etc.)... knowing that I'm going to die and I actually can't do anything about it makes me sad. Are there ever any upgrades or faster cast rate items that work for health potions (or to reduce spell cast cooldowns, for that matter)? Thanks in advance

Man, just a heads up for people but I am currently rocking a bonus EXP set and it feels like I'm just flying through the levels!

Seen on the Eve login screen:
"37... 3007... 315300 It's code for 'Play Eve. Servers are up. Login is fine.'"
I chuckled.

This is the skill build I've been playing Monk with (at lvl 28 so far). The funny thing about this build is that you don't need to balance your equipment at all, just go all-out on +dex and +damage. My dodge chance is about 80% when Lightning Flash and Mantra of Evasion (+activation bonus) are active, so I hardly take any damage in combat. For sustainability, I can just spend spirit and get all my HP back with transcendence. While seven-sided strike is nice single-target DPS, it's also pretty good panic button since you're invulnerable while casting and there's also the nice heal from transcendence as well. Breath of Heaven might be a little overkill, but my co-op buddy keeps almost dying (if any of you high masters NA players see Stellumz on ladder, tell him he sux). Might use elective mode to replace it with a second mantra or nuke.
Not sure if a similar build would fly in nightmare, but it's working great so far in the middle of act 3 normal.

No. You just have to be smarter than in the previous Diablo games.

Can someone explain this to me by answering this question. When I have skill "does 100% weapon damage" what number does it take to calculate that? Is it the number on the character screen "damage"(it says there from the tooltip it's dps, dps and weapon damage are not the same thing!), or maybe is it weapon damage from the inventory+ all the bonuses like dexterity/strenght+ other dmg stats. And how does it work with dualwield when skills are unique for example Impale (it is not casted from the weapon, but as a magic skill it does not originate from any crossbow I have).

Is the server still bad and causing issues at the moment. Almost finishing work and want to know if I can play this time around or not.

finished Act 2 Normal solo
+ Show Spoiler +Belial was much easier for my Witch Doctor than The Butcher.
I'm liking my Witch Doctor and Diablo 3 a lot.
on to Act 3
my Lvl 22 Witch Doctor has topped off to around 350 DPS. Int stacked up to 540 in image.

i dont see the point of doing that when it's already fast enough to level up. Not like u need to grind to lvl 99 like D2...

Yeah, my bonus xp is whatever the fuck it happens to add up to from the random pieces of gear that were upgrades in useful stats too.

Any idea why the D3 designers made the decision to have us only max at 60 instead of 99? Is it because since there are no attribute or skill points anymore, leveling up really doesn't matter anymore once everything's unlocked?

game starts at Inferno imo
D2 Lvl 99 was more a product of putting in lots of time or botting your way there.
with the Lvl 60 cap being very possible to hit and Inferno difficulty, emphasis is placed more on Inferno difficulty than hitting level cap imo and is a better representation of skill and accomplishment
