About the time they introduced a race of damn pandas into WoW
It was wayyyy before. All they've done since WOTLK regardless the lore is bad. But you can't compare things you add to make a MMO live longer and a game like D3 ou SC2. I agree that Brood War is better in the storyline than SC2 but it's not that bad tho. W3 and Frozen Thorn were damn good, and we have to wait the two expansions of SC2 to be sure. Also Blizzard can totally rely on their cinematics to tell their stories, even a bad story look awesome on CG :>
But the presentation of the story in SC2 is far superior (yeah I know that this is mainly due to technical means) and the story is not that bad at all. Even in Diablo. Diablo has quite an interesting lore imho but you dont get it presented as in i.e. Mass Effect or other story driven games.
Thats simply because the lore in Diablo has no need to be on the big stage because the gameplay of the Diablo series is totally stunning. Rather simple on the first view but very complex and sophisticated if you want to crunch all the numbers behind the mechanics. Due to this, the game tends to be extremly addicting.
And the same will happen in Diablo 3. It will be amazingly epic.
Can't understand the lore hating on blizz games, loved sc1 and bw stories and even more the wc3, TFT and wow storylines(classic and bc, quit the game after a few months of wotlk). Diablo story = bad boss demon from hell gonna kill everything, need to stop him, slash through his hordes of demons, kill him and wait for his return to start at the beginning ... sounds amazing for a hack&slay game to me(if the gameplay delivers, and for me it does in all diablos!) :D
That's interesting my card (GeForce 8400 GS) is on the list of supported video cards for low performance, so maybe it will be OK after all. I would like to upgrade anyway but have a slim case PC so it's not easy.

None of this is true...
I mean, where to start? Let's break it down sentence by sentence:
- The lore is cheesy and cliche - I am not hard to please - There are many, many stories that aren't awful cheese. Less true in video games because making an effort to get good writers is a relatively recent innovation, but still quite a few. - Of course you can have a happy ending without a cheesy ending, are you serious? That is staggering ignorance.
Care to provide examples that prove your points?
Only one I can remember is PS:T, and even there we saw a cheesy beggining. The standard "i dont remember anything!".
Anything that starts with a P, haha, planescape torment, psychonauts, portal, portal 2 for example
I didn't say anywhere this detracted from the game, but any idea that blizzard has a continued history of good writing is illusory
Their writing is above average at least. Maybe this just shows how awful most other games story is, but if you think they're on the small end of the scale I want to know what games you're playing because I must live under a rock.

Oh god me too. I'm starting to get super hyped for it
I just don't know which character to play as first. Fortunately, I have two younger brothers and we're all going to play as a different class ^^
from the item affixes... it seems to me there less variety than in D2 and missing crucial affixes such as Cast spell on attack or striking... or cast spells on being struck...
