i just seen people talking about how it might be to "flashy" with the arrows and such. I wouldnt worry about that as with every Blizzard game there is TONS of different graphics settings you can use to make things less flashy and so forth.
But in my opinion i actually like the arrows and such how it was, and i usually dont like flashy as i play Sc2 in lowest graphics possible but in the diablo III i think it seemed fitting :D

Actually, that was a major complaint ten years back when D2 released. The rest of the game made up for it more than enough so the whole argument dwindled and finally vanished. It's kind of a warm and fuzzy nostalgic feeling to see it being dragged out of the closet for D3's release again, this time around with a bit of sugar added on top from the ever so popular WoW bashing bandwagon I hope the dev team stands by what they hinted at jokingly in response to the whole art discussion by adding a cow level equivalent featuring unicorns and rainbows all over the place. That's what I am waiting for at least.
Personal prediction is that the game will be fun despite such massive sins as using up-to-date technology, new gameplay concepts we haven't seen in the series so far and colors other than red and black.
Sarcasm and other non-sense aside, I'd say I am pretty tolerant and willing to wait for the final product to make a verdict. Still I have found myself doubting the direction they are taking on a visual level a few times. Regardless of that, I am looking forward to the release since - at least in my books - the good news outweigh the bad news so far by a decent amount.
True, D2 replaced what it was lacking in atmosphere with long-term multiplayer gameplay. But nowadays, because I don't want to spend hours to get to the interesting part of D2 and rather want to experience a cool game right away, I really prefer replaying D1 by a large margin. Especially single-player wise, D2 has nothing on D1. D3 obviously follows D2 and I get that the multiplayer long-term experience is more attractive to many players. But honestly, WoW is just better at that. That's the role that WoW plays in this discussion. D3 could have made a point by having a cooler atmosphere again. After all, the actual mechanics of how you kill monsters (which is the big divider between WoW and D3) is pretty irrelevant to the hardcore players to whom the deep gameplay caters. Grinding is grinding...
So if I look for short term fun and atmosphere, I go to D1. If I want to build a character and spend hours trying to find a better item, I go to WoW. D3, as D2 in hindsight, seems pointless.
I never thought about the differences between D1 and D2 that way but it's an excellent point.
I hope that the atmosphere in D3 is similar to D1 or bosses end up being more unique than what I've seen so far. I recall a really old D3 video having a boss ripping off a player's head. That'd lead to a cool gameplay feature.
D3 keeps looking more and more like WoW. See the recent videos of the "quests" and the announcement of the PvP arenas. I don't think we can expect a radical change in development to end up more like D1.
Because D1 and D2 didn't have quests, and D2 certainly didn't have NPCs with exclamation points above their heads. /sarcasm

What quest in D1 and D2 had "go find these five corpses and return to me"? That's way more WoW-esque than "Slay the Butcher."
Edit: This just in: WoW and Diablo games both have swords.

You forgot about "After you get the artifact go and get six of some dude's internal organs to get even better artifact!"
I like the Demon Hunter, but as a guy who played the Amazon more than any other character, the DH is just too...bulky for me. I feel like my bow wielding character should be lightweight, not carrying heavy ass armor.

demon hunter wearing high heels in the trailer, your point is invalid

I don't really see how people can compare this game to WoW, other than that they are RPG's, and made by the same company.
On a side note, I've played through D2, too many times trying to hype myself for this game. I wish they would announce a beta already so I can start counting down.

I like my Amazonian women to be several times my size, with skin as thick as heavy ass armor.
Has Blizzard ever spoken of putting an item trading system in place? I hated having to resort to things like d2jsp for trading items in D2, because even then you could get scammed. I think it'd be awesome to have an Auction House like system so you can put your entire inventory up for sale for everyone to see, and there's no chance of being scammed.

yes they have, not sure on it but they said they don't want D2jsp etc to effect the economy or be something you use.
