Seriously, will we have no more of this? 200 fcr, man!
pvp in d2 was hilariously bad. No balance whatsoever. Charms ruined it. The skills made it unbalanced. The pace? its terrible. Tons of luck and now we have d3. which is much less of a screen fuck fest and people aren't teleporting everywheres and laying down spells that do more damage then a melee hit could ever do.

Pretty much. Spam blink, hope one of your projectiles connects, rinse, repeat. The reason Diablo 3 Arena looks appealing, is because it is "slow". It looks like it takes some tactics, not just spam.
The rumor leaked because they are searching for jobs. "The senior producer role calls for "Experience with shipping or porting multi-platform games." The candidate "must have shipped at least one AAA console title in a senior design role." "
Kotick's idea? i for one doesn't give a crap if the yare porting to consoles or not, as long as it doesn't fuck with the D3 main development...
too bad they're not bringing back the rune system, it was quite unique and fun ways to customise ur gears imo...
If they port to console it means they will make design decisions now that will make the PC version have neutered controls / interface etc. I really hope they keep it PC only, just so content like expansions/release is faster and more focused on then console type stuff.
As long as it's a port from PC to Console I could care less. It's when games get designed for Console and then get a half assed port to PC is when I wanna choke a bitch.
There was this "leaked" Blizzard release chart, but it is not sure if it was faked, saying that D3 would be released end of 2011. I really hope that this is true and it seems reasonable to me.

Two websites with the leaked chart, as I said it is probably a fake, but you get a general idea.
Its fake or a very old one. The first sc2 expansion is first comming in early 2012 they have already said in interviews. Also D3 still dosent seem to be close to beta so 2011 in unlikely.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but I actually went to Gamestop yesterday just to browse, and on their preorder list, it gave Diablo 3 a release date of 11/02/11.

The original was ported to Playstation a year after it was released on PC, and wasn't ever designed with consoles in mind.
There is a legitimate concern that because this new game is in early design stages while a console version is being considering may mean that design features that wouldn't port well to a console may be eschewed in favor of those that will. This result will generally be worse for the PC gamer, since his platform of choice has proper controls. Also considering changes in the videogame industry, such as larger design teams, meaning more oversight and business related decision making, the overall product may differ markedly from one intended for release only on the PC platform.
An example that comes immediately to mind is the array of skills available and how they are deployed. A skill shot placed on the screen with the mouse would be easily available to a PC gamer, but would be unfeasible for a console gamer. Thus such a skill would not be put in the game in the first place, rather than putting it in the game and figuring out some way to fix it for the console version.
Taking Diablo II, which was released on PC and not any console, lets take the example of Teleport. Such a skill is very easy to use with a right click on the ground. How would such a skill be deployed with a console controller accurately? Perhaps such a skill would now be discarded in Diablo III . . .

Most PC ports to console are nice, because you take a great game from PC and make it work for a console. What is happening now is they are looking at designing the game with launching D3 on both at the same time (presumably). That means they are designing with both in mind at the same time, so some things that seem easy to design for a PC might be a nightmare for consoles at the same time, and instead of taking the time to make it work (where if you had a PC port -> console port after the game is out, you just have to make it work), they may just discard some ideas to avoid that type of trouble.
Teleport is a perfect example, because its hard to control that on a console whereas on a PC it is very basic.

Are their preorder dates generally reliable?
Not really. Generally unless it is a date given out by the company making the game it is just an arbitrary guess. For instance sc2 came out years after the first date that was given for preorder dates.
If they make Diablo 3 multiplatform would they bring battlenet 2.0 to consoles? :S Is it going to be playable between consoles and PC through battlenet?
If D3 comes out this year I dont really care about the answers to either of those questions XD
Obviously I will get this on release ASAP :D. Hopefully I'll have a chance to beta test. All I hope for is that D3 won't be a huge level/grindfest.
I haven't kept up with D2 for a while (don't think I've played for 3-4 years now), but I hate having to make new characters and powerlevel them through just to make it even remotely playable. D3 needs skill point reassignments so you can change up strategies on the fly when you're PvPing or going to face a tough boss (albeit some sort of penalty scheme should be implemented obviously).
And a dedicated item balance team would be nice. I've never played WoW but I heard the game economy is so dynamic that they need a balance guy to keep it all in check. I think D3 could use a specialized position like that so at some point, the item values even out instead of being all skewed towards a few things which makes duping more likely. Anyone remember the good old days where soj's used to be the be all and end all currency?

No, they are not. Tons of stuff with developers pushing release dates all the time.
