Yep, now I only need to get past the "Error could not connect to PvP.net service" thingy that comes up on login screen...

the reason imho why archangel sucks in LoL is because LoL has a fucked up mana system, and everybody should agree on this. mp5 is way to costly and there's no reason to get it over mp5/lvl runes which give you more then enough with meditation. Then there's also blue buff and the ability to just recall for mana.
Mana just isn't as important as in other games, which has it's cons and pros.
but it doesn't matter because by now they can't change it with all the non mana heroes.
oh and abilities and spells cost way less as in other games.

ive also been loving manamune on kog and corki. urgot's okish with it, but he doesnt benefit from the mana pool (he only has mana problems like 1-6, so if u get it early enough for him to use it, i have no idea what you are doing) and just in general, he needs shittons of actual ad for it to translate into significant amounts of dmg, which means that manamune is not really gonna cut it for him. Its why pen items (are there any pen items other than bruta?) are really the only way to go on him. Same thing kinda goes for ez in terms of not needing the mana, but the ad is pretty damn good on him. Tbh, what ive been seeing most effective on heroes that use mune (kog, loaf, and corki notably) is razors->manamune->mbr Urgot is pretty high up in the mana per level ranks. Of the chars that actually can use AD he probably has the highest natural mana pool. Unless you count Janna in there or I missed some. He gets 1.1 AD per level on his Manamune.
And of course Heimerdinger with his +65 Mana per level is the best character for Manamune ever!
Btw, do you lose the extra mana if you sell all your Tear etc items?

I don't see how it is a fucked up system. I think it's perfectly reasonable for MP5 to be expensive. If it was cheap, you would not have to manage your mana at all. MP5/L runes and Meditation might be a bit too good compared to other runes/Masteries since they are worth a lot of gold. But many chars still need more mana (I often have to take care not to spam Volley so much that I don't have my ult ready), and there only is 1 blue buff per team. You also can't go back to base all the time, or if you do, you lose experience etc. Abilities and spells also have lower cooldowns than in other games, which increases mana consumption. "Different" doesn't mean bad.

Yup. Kass and Malz are the only champs I regularly pick up an archangels on.

The only possible "fucked up" parts are the meditation and mp5pl runes are too strong. Which is debateable because for the most part everyone has the same playing field, so if you forego the mana recovery you do so with full understanding that you're foregoing it in favor of something else.
The real reason why most people don't get AA is because it gives no survivability which, yes, is a remarkably important thing. It's why people opt for Zhonya rushes (strong ability for heroes like Heimer and Morg) or stuff like RoA (lots of hp).
Edit: I mean seriously, mana not important? I was playing 1v2 Kassadin vs a Taric/Zilean lane and the whole laning was dropping to 0 mana every few seconds. It was intense, yo. If you're stockpiling mana it means you're doing something wrong and are playing inefficiently. It's not like one side has infinite mana and the other does. Aside from Soraka anyways >_o

Go 8-0 in jungle first 15 minutes, kill warwick first blood in his jungle, steal all his buffs, gank lanes 4 times, and team feeds harder than im owning.
After the game sure enough they're all 200 elo points lower than everyone else in the game.

@spines, im not saying that theres no way manamune is strong, or even usefull on urgot. Hell i wouldnt even say that he is rushing anything of particular importance to 'not get manamune kus it delays x'. Just saying that based on A) urgot has 0 mana problems even during midgame and B) his skills terribad scaling means that manamune is not a core item. If ur fucking shit up and are like 5-0 in 20 mins, hell yeah, keep the wave goin and grab that mune, but otherwise i dont see it as an item geared particularly towards urgot.

Urgot destroys Pantheon early-game, it's pretty funny o/

i wonder how well he'd do against old panth...
that would have been a kinda interesting path riot could have taken, introduce a hero with the specific goal of fucking with one that is 'OP' rather than nerfing him to hell

Who are the most common ranked bans now after this last patch?

And one that is unpopular. Nunu with smite countered turret Heimer well, but who wants to be forced to play as him? Same concept here.

i like urgot
also, i think u kinda missed my point. i just think it would have been interesting to introduce a char who specifically counters an aspect of an 'op' hero and tell the community to l2play, would be interesting to say the least
i think bans are largely the same

Kayle is going to be retarded good again soon IMO.
Manamune is the only item you need to go godlike.

lol, when was she ever not good

Super high level players have no issues taking the perfect counter-pick to ruin an enemy team.
Of course that applies to less then 1% of us.

erm, i think we've kinda been over this, but iirc 'super high lvl players' will actually stick to their guns when it comes to matches that actually mean something

Kayle never left 'retarded good' tier. Also GRB is still the best first item, unless you get forced back way early? Typically though around lvl 5-6 mp5pl runes(I only run seals, glyphs are mrpl) are giving me enough regen to have great uptime on heal + e in lane, so unless you are staring at a tear solving those problems earlier it just doesn't seem worth it to delay the better item(grb).
I did go Manamune 2nd item in all 3 games we played last night, and it was strong, but if we didn't have Kass on the team hogging blue(<3) I probably would've skipped it still. Definitely a solid choice on her though.

I tried with Rod of Ages and Archangel Staff (today, after the patch) and I lost all the bonuses worked up.

Expectable from RoA since it is a per-item thing (Or at least I have always thought of it that way). Did you also try buying a new Tear/AA after you sold it? It could be that the stack remains full but is only applied if you hold at least 1 of these items.
Also it seems like I am starting to run into "oh is that how you play in low elo"-people. Why does everyone think that DBlade > DShield > Regrowth on Ashe? I wonder where those people would put stuff like Longsword, Boots, or nowadays maybe Meki -> Tear/Boots... (gotta work on that idea, you could drop the MP5/L seals then, but I do love the Ghostblade/Bruta opening)
Damnit I want replays. I always forget to check at what timings I can get a Philosopher's stone, and how long it takes me to farm up Boots/Ghostblade/Bruta/Red Pot. Can't really tell if it's worth getting or not, but it sure feels kinda nice to have the additional regen, and it's dirt cheap now.
