Skill order I usually go: Q, W, W, E, W, R, Q, Q, Q, Q, R, W, W, E, E, R, E, E
Items I usually start off with are: meki pendant, and 2x healthpotion
dont go meki. always go dorans. use W once per wave. even if you land Q on the enemies, alot of the time its not worth it to put W under them cause your Q isnt lvled enough to keep them in it.

1) I don't think so. If it doesn't finish channeling it shouldnt do any damage. (it's not like nunu's ult)
2) No, Sivir's Ricochet never applied any on-hit effects. The damage it does is based on how much damage the first hit does. I do not believe it is affected by armor or anything else, it just does flat damage based on how hard the first hit was.

I'm 8-1 with galio now. I'm starting to find out he has a lot of major weaknesses. He has a large mana problem throughout the game, even with mp5 seals. I'm thinking about adding mp5 blues too.
His other problem is the fact that he just stops being functional against AD teams. You have two choices, either get less MR/AP for armor or die. If you get less MR your ult just tickles. You can't pull people with taunt like rammus/shen can so its much less positional and needs to do damage to matter. Not to mention the other problem of everyone running / flashing out of the ult before damage hits.
His shield is also pretty crappy It makes people feel invincible like other shields, but doesn't actually do the job LOL. but that's just because he's new.
His gale skill also causes him to pause to cast it, so the speed increase is actually not very much when you're chasing someone. You still have to land the skill shot at max range to slow them down.. and even then the slow doesn't last long and all you have left is auto attacks anyway.
Most of my games I end up with 10x more assists than kills. Even with 150-200AP from stacking magic resist.
His one saving grace is he can 1v2 extremely easy. He can ignore most early game attacks and ganks almost always fail. Going merc treads first really heightens his escape.
Fun to play, but not strong enough to play seriously.

1) it does, and it is completely ridiculous, because as you say nunus does not. (And yes nunu's does more dmg (actually not always) but does not silence, while taunting you forever)

It looks like everyone is learning kass and owning with him, I tried to play him but I just never felt like I did much... I would go like 5/2/20 but could never just destroy people like you are all explaining.
(Btw my 5 kills are usually early game through destroying some caster who tries to go shot for shot vs my passive and q, fun times) Read the small Essay which is linked in the first post of this thread in the Hero guides Spoiler It helped me alot. Seems like Kassadin is becoming quite popular, I really enjoy playing him =)
Kassadin getting popular is the worst thing that could happen to me in this game.
The point about Kass is really really simple. You're an assassin. You do unholy damage with your spells and you can run away from almost anything. The easiest (but very unreliable) way to come legendary with Kass is get a fast Mejai and KS on everything you see.
If you go solo mid, get a fast catalyst into RoA then whatever. If you don't, it varies, you can go shit like Tear (don't recommend), sorc boots (almost mandatory) and soulstealer. Some people have had success with Mejai/GA, idk, I had a game where I went 20-0-11 and we still struggled to win because I overinvested in actually not losing my stacks.
There's also a GRB Kass which is unconventional and very opportunistic. Basically, you get a GRB and come stealing golems and smashing towers. Melee Kassadins (pure DPS) don't exist, don't even try anything like that, it will result in humiliating losses.
In teamfights try to come from behind and surprise buttsecks that Ashe or another squishy. Making them run away silenced is as good as killing them from a teamfight perspective, so you're doing your job well. Whenever you see someone running, slow them and kill them, you should have plenty of firepower.
Oh and the stacking damage thing on your ult is a bonus. Don't ever try to build around that, it is completely random.
Summoner spells to run: Ghost (great on anyone, Kass can actually skip this) Clarity (if you're like level 1 and have no runes or masteries, feel free, otherwise, not recommended) Ignite (produces kills in the laning phase, because your combo brings people below 100 hp all too often. mostly useless later on unless they're healer heavy) Cleanse (you're impossible to kill) Teleport (imo the best spell for Kassadin just because of how much surprise rape you can do with this. Also great in harass lanes because you just port back and come out fresh and itemized)
I've seen people also run flash (imo pointless because riftwalk does the same thing with like 50 times better cooldown), exhaust (you already have a slow, but a blind is teamfight-friendly against shit like Olaf and other melee DPS) and heal. All other spells are mostly garbage, you're not a support, you're not supposed to reveal map or protect towers.
Don't expect to run legendary with Kass in your first games. He plays ALOT different from the other champs and takes time to learn. There's nothing really physically demanding about him (he's easy to control compared to many other champs) but he's all about making decisions and that is quite hard.

Nunu's ult does damage based on how long it was channeling but it is not directly proportional to how much damage should have been done based on the time period channeled (ie channeling for 30% of the time does not yield 30% of the damage, maybe 10% max)
There is some bug where if he is instantly interrupted while he starts his ult it does full damage for some reason.

Oh, meh I guess. I bought a Sash on Malph and completely raped Galio's Ult every fight, but it still looked like we took damage and I wasn't sure.
I tested it myself that APen affects Sivir's Ricochets. I assumed LW worked the same way, but now I'm not quite sure.

I think I read it on this thread a few pages ago.

Galio's ult does damage even if interrupted. In fact, a good Galio should always interrupt his ult prematurely if there are people with mercs involved.
Seriously, there are SOO many things that fuck up Galio's ult. Mercs are noteworthy, as well as all "stun on next attack" skills which many many champs possess.

He can interrupt his own ult?

Just played Galio for the second time. I got a chalice and ran Mp5 seals. I didn't have any mana problems after getting the chalice.

Yep. The worst thing is when it happens on accident. Just like Nunu, he can just rightclick somewhere and his ult will fire prematurely.
I'm still not really sure about Galio, he seems strong but has too many counters.
What is for sure is that he is not a tank. At least not a pure tank. If you build him as one he's just a walking ultimate and his ult has so many counters that you will have to admit you will just be a voluntary damage sink for the enemy. Besides, all of his spells scale with AP and Q with E have pretty nice scaling (0.6 and 0.8 respectively).
I've had some success with the following build:
MPen -- MP5/18 -- flat CDR -- HP for runes. (pretty standard for a caster). 0-7-23 in masteries (get that shit in defense that gives you health regen for mana, it looks great, 2 points in utility go into improved flash and ghost). Flash/Ghost as summoner spells.
Basically you will play like a caster with an additional twist of being a nice initiator/second initiator. Items:
Doran's Ring/HP pot Mercs/HP pots/wards on first run to base Then assemble Banshees, you need the HP/shield to be able to land your ult. Then Abyssal Scepter (do the math, this little beauty gives you 100 AP and 20 MPen, it's fucking gorgeous). Then whatever, GA should do fine if you're in need of armor. Ultimately you want a Zhonya's ring, like any caster.
I've found that Chalice is a little redundant. Yeah it gives some nice mana regen, but it delays your true shit for a large while and leaves you seriously lacking HP.
Whenever possible, try to take a 1v2 lane. Once you hit lvl 6, you not only don't fear tower divers, you LOVE them. Besides, Galio clears creeps like a machine so he should have no trouble keeping his tower alive. Don't hope for kills, they might only come on accident. Level your Q (it has a shorter cooldown and is less mana-intensive than E) with one level in E and the rest in W. W is amazing at staying alive, and it gives you extra AP for it's duration.
What you will hate later on is people with mercs flashing out of your ult before it does any damage. You can interrupt your ult manually, so often it's a good idea, but I admit I have not yet mastered this technique.
I dunno, really, if Galio lands all of his spells successfully, he's a goddamn AoE damage machine. All his 3 offensive spells are more than capable to strike 2-3 people at a time. The problem with his is that both his nukes are skillshots (and Q is ridiculously hard to land consistently unless the opponent is on the run already) and a large portion of his damage goes to waste. Bulwark is underrated as well, treat it like Kayle's ult really, it can be a life saver, but requires REALLY good timing. I've had some hillarious kills with bulwark when some low-health Warwick went to lasthit at me (I had 50 HP) but Bulwark actually made him heal me instead of damage and I picked him off.

The reason galio is pretty good is he farms so well
this was a relatively even game until i got farmed enough to tank all of them and never die =p

Going against a full magic team is the best thing as galio. It makes me feel so good deep down inside. I really like Galio because he can lane really well...as compared to amumu who has a crap laning stage. =\

So first game of the night. Someone picks WW before me. Proceeds to run with Ninja Tabi..
Does ok I guess. Enemy has a heaps better comp. I choose Kat (i rarely play any other champs and she was my most recent one I had on EU). Didnt finish changing masteries in time.
I go like 4/6/9, our team loses pretty much every team fight. Our vlad starts raging at me, like i thought i did ok. Could have been alot worse lol.
Just hate getting pricks that bitch. I didnt play any worse than the rest of our team, and sure as hell woulda done a better job than our WW. I dunno where this vlad gets off thinking his so pro with his only 3 deaths with all that lifesteal lol.
Fuck solo q. Glad the stupid chat keeps disconnecting after a match.

Galio is pretty strong, to the point where I think he's one of the few tanks that would be effective in a 2v1 lane. If you level QEQEQ you can 1 shot the ranged minion wave with QE at level 5

God I love jungle Udyr!
Free meal everytime >
Quick question.
How many minion kills do you guys end up with on WW in say a 30m game?
I just did a 27m nexus down with 22 minion kills lolol. 6 kills 11 assists, didnt even finish bloodrazor (got wits end first). I feel I should be getting more minion kills somehow..
|
E>Q simply because its 200x easier to land for Galio. Zhonya's is pretty key.
|
During the game if you push tab the CS score counts all your jungle creep kills.
At the end of the game it does not.
So I'm guessing you had only 22 lane minion kills, but waaaaaay more jungle creep kills.
|
Ah that makes sense.
Just had a 26m game surrender with 33 minion kills. I helped urgot gank their morgana a few times top lane (she had morde with her too). They sent their whole team to get us hahaha.
I always wondered about that. Think i avg around 100 or so all up inc jungle.
