I'm assuming your team is in the losers bracket. What team did you lose to? Also, how does the lower bracket work? Can you guys still be the top 2 teams and go to WCG?

Must...carry...harder... That kind of stuff really doesn't work in solo queue. You need a champion that can be aggressive and rack up skills right from about level 4+ on, and who also can carry. kayle is fine for solo que, just go kayle + duo que with someone playing a good jungler(mummu/udyr) And you call that solo queue?
It's the same thing... also kayle is fine for true solo que as well, if your team is that bad then your team is that bad. no matter what toon you choose it's gonna pretty much amount to the same thing... kayle gives you a great chance of just solo pushing towers and taking on a few at a time as well as turning team fights around.. as well as just being kayle :D...

Considering how little it costs to double your EHP and how expensive it is to double your damage output, I don't understand why anyone would want to build their champ glass cannon.

There is a reason, although I will probably butcher it in my explanation, it makes sense for some champions but not others.
effective hp, which is basically calculated with actual health and reduction of damage due to armor and magic. if you have 100 hp and take 50% reduced damage from physical due to armor, then one would have 200 EHP vs physical attacks
Usually physical melee dps will build for higher EHP because their damage is dealt steadily over a period of time and there is a ramp up time (where you can't do damage due to having to move to the enemy) that needs to be accounted for. Even if you can 1 shot the enemy you won't kill them if you don't get close enough to attack.
Ranged dps and casters generally build glass cannon to abuse their ability to deal damage instantly and if they are able to kill the enemy before they get touched then all the EHP in the world wont help them. The other problem with casters is that they have significantly less damage output when their spells are on cooldown, thus the less amount of total volleys it takes to kill an enemy the higher chances they will be able to survive. This favors more damage but usually just enough health to survive until spells cooldown atleast once.
Some champions are both casters and ranged dps (ezreal as a good example) where their dps with their burst spells can be increased and their damage from auto attacks can be increased with similar or the same items. If you build hp on ezreal you are extremely gimping ourself unless their team is so tanky you cant survive long enough to get away.
Also in the case with ezreal if you can kite the enemies long enough and poke them enough you don't need EHP to kill someone that's half dead.

Uuuuugh most agonizing loss in a while. Bunch of TL people unranked queuing. We have Zilean solo top against Ezreal Blitzcrank Veigar mid against Janna Shen Ashe bot against Jax Vladimir (I think it was Vlad) and Olaf jungle.
Things start off not so well; all our lanes are losing, and mid dies right before I can gank. I get the kill on Janna, but die to tower. Zilean survives admirably, while bot has troubles and gets ganked by Janna less than 20 seconds before I arrive, with Jax barely living due to shield and two of us dying. Whoever survives holds the turret, and we enter the midgame slightly behind. No one has done dragon until Janna and someone try around the 15 minute mark but I steal it. I fail another gank (HATE janna); we lose a few teamfights. Veigar is starting to shine now, however, and I have begun constructing mallet. Currently, it's 25 minutes and we are sans all the outer turrets and inner mid, having taken only outer bot ourselves. They grabbed dragon too fast for anyone to stop, so we're even there, and we're behind about 5 kills. Fortunately, most of their kills are Janna's. We win the next teamfight, but don't have the momentum to push them Then we ace them and get an inhibitor. Then we ace them again (but after zil got hooked), and lose all but Ashe and Shen, who are currently in no position to push because their Ezreal is almost alive again. So, when we get the second inhibitor down, the game turns around again. Our only tank, Shen, has basically lost most of his power, while Jax has finally hit his LEET DEEPS at about 40 minutes in. I can still go toe to toe with him... but they've wised up and are now ignoring me. Jax flattens Ashe Zilean and Veigar (who only takes off 2/3 of his health now, half of which Janna heals back up). Shen can no longer effectively stop him. I chase Ezreal around, usually kill him if Janna doesn't focus on stopping me, and promptly die. From there, they push down an inhibitor, take baron, and push all the way into our base, killing one nexus turret and getting the other to half health. We turn it around, acing them, though at the cost of everyone but Ashe and Shen. Zilean ports in to help and they kill both exposed inhibs, escaping with no casualties... that is, until Zilean gets hooked in middle. With him dead, I die in seconds to triple elixir Jax and our team melts just as quickly. Game over.
oh Olaf also has some problems when the enemy team has 3 exhausts

yea that game was rough. one of the best veigars i have played in awhile though ( almost 800 ap )
