adding to whining, que with locodoco, end up with manyreason, loco disconnects at lvl 5, almost win 4v5 (double killcount, dragon control), they get lucky ace and baron, randoms opponents brag after game since they know who we are. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Poor you.
Poppy's amusing now that half the heroes people play have no CC >_>;

Just as a tank there are better champs, and as far as damage is concerned, there are far better champs. I'll often rack up kills and towers early/mid game as Morde, only to find myself becoming useless late game.
Damn can he farm though. <3
Rylai and Randuin and you have mass freeze.
Because of his early laning power, it's pretty common to have him be hella tanky early. My build with him is usually:
1. Beads + 3 pots ----> Warden or spirit vis (Warden will speed up Randuin significantly. I usually just buy a cape without turning it to spirit, and wait for GA or merc. the CD is nice tho) 2. HoG 3. Merc Threads or Tabi (i prefer tabi) 4. Upgrade HoG Randuin 5. Rylai 6. FoN (with megatron first) or GA
Seems like a pretty expensive list, but morde is ridiculously good at farming. @ the 25 mins mark your Rylai should be almost finished, and at that point you're just one tanky mofo When you charge into a teamfight, the opposing team can't really ignore you, because of the slow from randuin and rylai, and your ult, which potentially could turn the fight into a 6v4. If they focus you, you siphon to continuously replace your shield (and your armor/mres applies to your shield), and ult someone to stay alive. If they decide to ignore you instead, you flip randuin and mass slow them with rylai, and once they turn back to focus on you your team turns back to focus on THEM.

mord is really dominant early mid game. but late game you just wish you had amumu instead and all those kills he racked up on a different char.
|
I've never liked Rylai on Morde. He gets three weak AoE slows and one weak 8 second single target slow, and AP (most of the price of Rylai) isn't all that useful on him. Usually my team has enough slowing-people capability to outdo 15%. Very situational. Also, I run MS quints and often grab Swifties. I also like to rush either warmogs or haunting guise, depending on whether I want late or early game power.
Also, I remember hilarity when ParkJaeHyuk turned around a losing game by killing off their 15-kill TF as all of us died, then winning 1v4 with his pet critting for 700 damage.
|
I honestly don't even see mordes being dominant early-mid game except vs. idiots. *shrugs*
|
iono, the fight becomes 6v4 if you manage to focus down someone right at the start with morde's ult on them.
That ghost thing is actually sometimes as strong as a real champ especially if you get it on their carry.
|
Basically, what separates a bad Mord and a good Mord is proper ult use. You need to gib someone right off and suddenly your pet is useful. Maybe Mord+Veigar would be a good combo (lol)
|
Poppy is just such a situational hero that I can't stand playing her. I like playing champs where I don't gotta rely on people =)
|
instagibs in teamfights don't happen unless someone fucks up. I'll take a more consistently useful champion than one that REALLY steamrolls the opponents for fucking up and giving you a free carry kill but is otherwise an underwhelming champ.

But then you know that your laning opponents are underfarmed.

I have major problems against morde as Annie. Is the true answer just to stay away from him? This was early game in middle lane. He destroyed me 3 times with absolutely no problem. I've never been so clueless in a matchup.

Can any of the current champions carry a team 1v5? (Assuming 1/2 feeders?)

BTW server seems to be down atm. I thought it was a patch or maintenance, but so is the site so I don't know

it would be funny if an entire team took cleanse when they saw poppy was picked. that would really suck. but i dont think people respect her enough to base 5 summoner spells on her
and actually i feel that poppy is not very situational. she can get kills no matter what's going on (unless her target has cleanse up haha). what situations you think she cant do anything mrgerry? even if she has the lowest cs in the game going into mid game, she can still get kills. W helps her catch people on her own.

Kassadin can 1v5 by merit of how hard he is to kill, especially with the tank-heavy metagame (because tanks go through hell and back to try to finish him) but you need your team to buy time because he can't just burst everyone, especially if the other team has lots of HP, and he must have golem for the mana regen to sustain for the duration of a fight.
Edit: Against a player who's reacting properly, Poppy can at most land three-four hits while being kited (unless you can get a good tower shot), and that's assuming no Cleanse and that you don't DI someone with CC.
As a result you're heavily reliant on your team being a push team, that your team can snare a few people to prevent their whole team from falling back and just hawking you the moment DI runs out, and you're definitely reliant on a lanemate early game because Poppy without gold is actually very un-scary.
Edit2: IMO the problem with Poppy is that her early-game is very easily-gimped, at which point it's pretty hard to get going because she's one of the most obvious and avoidable assassins in the game. She has struggles to "catch up" once she's behind because she's reliant on a nuking style of combat, and because her spells are single-target she can't just go into farm mode like other nukers. And despite her great movement speed she's still liable to being kited...
Remember, if you take out 70% of a ranged DPS' hp before you die it wasn't worth it because your whole job is to kill them before you die. If you're ahead Poppy's one of the most difficult to stop (sans Cleanse) but if behind she's very ignorable :/
And that's not even considering a lot of Poppy targets have a built-in escape these days that make it really hard for her to do her job while DI is up, like Ezreal and Trist and Corki.

Annie vs Morde: Harass as much as possible early on. Morde can't charge his shield much until level 3. Stand away from creeps so he can't hit you and charge shield. When he moves close to E creeps, autoattack him. It's hard to beat him by yourself, so ask for a gank. He tends to push extremely hard and has no natural escapes, so get someone to kill him - junglers are good bets. Also, save stun for if his shield ever goes down. He can prevent HP loss with shield, but he has a hard time recovering it.
|
I've never known good mordes to push by himself unless he knows 100% that he's not gonna get ganked. They mostly just kill the creepwave in about 2 second, and then run off to kill some jungle creeps before coming right back to lane and finishing another wave.
